  1. I have a SW MP 9mmL for production and i live in Florida. Where should i apply it on this pistol and what type slide glide should i get?
  2. I have a few questions for you guys about slide guide. First of all I am wondering if you first clean your firearm with any solvent like hoppes#9 or M-Pro7? Then do i apply slide guide? Where on the gun? How much should i apply or is it descretionary? My last question is; after i already applyed slide guide once or more than once to my pistol, do i have to clean it again with regualar solvent like M-Pro7 before i apply it again to the handgun? Thanks alot and i would appreciate your replies
  3. Which cleaner is better? M-Pro7 or Hoppes #9
  4. What type is the standard slide guide. Also what is a good cleaner.
  5. I live in Florida. I have a S&W M&P 9mmL. What type of slide guide would be good for me? Is slide guide a cleaner of lubricant? How does it work? Where do you put it? Could anyone answer these questions and give me more information on slide guide.
  6. How do u guys clean your basic parts of your gun like the barrel, slide, and frame. What solvent do u use for each componet. Also what is the best lubricant i should use.
  7. There really isn't an ideal single stack, but there are a lot of similarities found in all the good ones. They have to run 100%. That's #1 by a mile. #2 is that they need to be reasonably accurate....say 2" groups at 25yds off sandbags (forget Ransom Rest results). A crisp trigger is more important than "light"...so anything from 4 or 4.5lbs on down will be fine if it has a clean, crisp break. Sights are whatever works for you. I like a .090" with red fiber optic, but lots of folks like plain black or wider. Rear sights can be a quality fixed model or a good adjustable, but you need to have the point of aim/point of impact be close from 0-25yds...anything longer, like 40-50yd standards, will probably force you to alter your sight picture a bit. Probably 99% of all SS shooters are using either a .40 or .45 since Minor scoring hurts you points wise. Some SS guns in .40 will be picky about OAL issues, but they do make sense if you also shoot .40 in Limited and want to use the same ammo. As far as brands/gunsmiths it's really an open field. You can tweak a stock gun like a Springfield or STI or go with something a little higher end like a Les Baer or Wilson, or go full custom and be fine...it's really just what you like and what's in the budget. The best overall value is probably something like an STI Spartan with a trigger job and a reliability package done on it. You could win at any level with that setup. In the "nicer" category a Les Baer Premier II is probably the best value. If you have the cash and time to wait a full custom gun is usually going to be better in every way and last longer since it'll be fit better and use better components. The sky is the limit, but it's not needed to win. Limited guns are sorta similar. A lot just depends what you like and what works for you. The majority of folks are shooting some sort of 2011 in .40 either custom or factory (like an STI Edge/Eagle). Next in popularity would probably be the Glock 35, then Para's, EAA Witness and Caspian wide bodies. A fair number of the 2011s out there are 6" guns, but there are probably more standard 5" guns, 5" sight trackers, 5" guns with heavy dust covers and bull barrels etc....quite a variety in the 5" 2011 genre. For most folks something like an Edge or an Eagle would be a great start...get a reliability package and a trigger job, buy some tuned mags and practice a lot and you'll be set. Eventually you may want something different, but it takes a higher skill level to really be able to take advantage of the differences between say an Edge and a full custom 6" gun (just as an example). After a while you'll get to shoot other people's guns with different setups and eventually you'll figure out what seems to work best for you. I know that's not a short, easy answer, but unfortunately there really isn't one! R, Thanks G Man Bart

  20. Hey Everyone, What is some good earmuffs under 100$. They could be electronic or non electronic.
  21. I'd be willing to bet it's the other way around. Most folks havent mastered the art of shooting with both eyes open. Especially with iron sights. You might just need to give it more time to get used to the new sights, but I'd say if you have the XS sights on your other gun & are comfortable with them stick with that. Im a junior uspsa production shooter. i ve been shooting matches now for about 4 months and i shoot with both eyes open
  22. Im a junior shooter who shoots production. Ive shot probobly 4 matches. sometimes i nail every target but sometimes im everywhere. i think i need to slow down
