  1. No, and loading major. Never had an issue other than AMMOLOAD type.
  2. Beastly, You are definitely safer loading minor. However the step creates a stress point and increases the risk of case separation. That risk is greater lading major, but it is not zero loading minor. Plus, with range brass you never know if it does not have a major load or two in its history.
  3. I'm loading 9 major. I fill a 50 round .45 plastic ammo carrier with 50 pieces of mouth up range brass. The next step is to use a high intensity light to shine down each case to look for the step that is in IMT, AMMOLOAD, and FM brass. One case separation is quite enough, thanks. BTW if you have a 1050, any of that that step brass crapola that sneaks through will reveal itself in the swage stage by the feedback to your pull.
  4. Well the recently completed Wisconsin section used Practiscore and the sub minors all showed up with points, penalties, and time but the hit factors were all zero. Since PP and T were available you could still calculate a HF assuming your bullets flew just a tad faster.
  5. Wonderful! Now, does anyone have a lead on where ANY pistol powder is available?
  6. Is there any other way to see results other than stage by stage. Practiscore would have been nice.
  7. I zero my sight at 17 yards for USPSA at five pasters in a plus (+) sign. When five free style all hit, it's time to lock down.
  8. 10 Shot Group Sizes 1.085 OAL = 6.694" 1.095 OAL = 5.462" 1.105 OAL = 6.353" 1.115 OAL = 6.058" 1.125 OAL = 3.163" 1.135 OAL = 8.303" 1.145 OAL = 9.407" 1.155 OAL = 9.088" This looks more like 1.125 being a flier. What were the conditions for the shots? Sand bags?
  9. Not familiar with that comp maker but mine is tight and I use MG bullets. Softer jackets will often nick the comp anr keyhole. At the higher pressure needed to push a 115gr you mau find the same thing. If the through holes in the cop are bigger that will be less of an issue, but that also means less comping.
  10. There is some wisdome in using poppers insread of plates. Edge hits don't trigger a reshoot.
  11. "I don't think I am ever going to start a stage again without pulling on that first mag..." Excellent practice. I once started a COF with only the barny round loaded, but no mag at all.
  12. Go for the big A zone. Slow down a tad if you need to, but at 30 feet or so you should be able to shoot A's all day long.
  13. That stage was all about remembering a completely unfamiliar finish. Some shooters pressed the two buttons, then waited several seconds before remembering to release them.
  14. I load at 1.18 with no problems in an STI. I crimp until the cartridge looks almost like a .357 Sig.
  15. So at the margin this becomes dependent on the skill or steadiness of the person lifting the weight. That the lifting may be done by the competitor does not change that fact.
