  1. Will he ship them? I'd order 5k from him. Mule Another guy already called them and asked to ship. Sadly they won't.
  2. I am not as worried as the original poster but every time someone posts along this line I go by my local dealer and see for myself. He seems to get WSP's in all the time. I picked up another 5K today and left him with 20K. Same price as last year($128) He had LP LR as well. So around here at least it seems not as bad as other places. I should be golden for a while with 25K on hand.
  3. It is a complete tear off. I do have a power vent. I will not mix vent types.I.E ridge/pots. Thanks for all the advice. Amazing what can be learned here.
  4. Soffitt vents are what I have. I was thinking the patches should be fine if done properly. Also as a side note, both roofing companies are good outfits in this area and I have good references for both so I think it is more of a "make a little more money" thing for the one company.
  5. Those are perfectly valid points. But if you happen to like shiney brass like me just thin some nufinish liquid wax with mineral spirits and add a small amount (think teaspoon) when you tumble. I keep some mixed in a water bottle next to the tumbler. I do agree with the other posters that it is not needed though. My tests have shown that 2 hours with walnut removes the crud then an hour or so with corncob and polish makes it look like new.
  6. I did not know that about FO rod. Thanks
  7. I'll try to be brief. Getting new roof due to storm damage. Want to switch to ridge vents from box vents. House two story 7 years old. One roofer says just cut out to adjoining rafters to patch holes left by box vents. Another wants to use several sheets of sheeting and basically run all the way across the roof to fix the holes. He says it is not structurally sound to just patch the holes you must bridge at least 3 rafters. And of course he wants a bunch of money where the other guy will put on a ridge vent and patch the holes for no additional cost. Who is right?
  8. Getting a new roof due to storm damage. I have a question about changing to ridge vents. If I get any hits I'll explain in detail. Thanks
  9. Got mine tonight. Thanks much BE.
  10. 1) OK, here is the scoop. Got new FO rod. I ordered it from one of our dealers here so it should be good stuff. When I held it up to the old FO on the gun it was much brighter than the old. But when I cut it to the short length I need it is just as dim. What is the science behind this? Basically a 12" piece is much brighter than a 1" piece. I thought light was just gathered through the ends? 2) I installed it fine. nice melt job. Not blackened. Can it be buffed or any other trick to brighten it. Or is that as good as it gets? Don't get me wrong it is fine and looks as good as new just wondering if there are any other neat to know tricks concerning FO. Thanks alot.
  11. I do too. When I took my retirement physical, I was in the audio booth happily pushing the buttons when the booth door opened. I asked the lady "are we done already?". She said "we haven't started yet!" I keep a radio or tv on for background noise most of the time now. It distracts me from the ringing. I am accustomed to it. Dave I retired from the Army in January of 2005 and I was told most emphatically that hearing loss and tinnitus do not qualify for disability. I did get a little for other things. I get 10% for it. Retired in 2000. You might want to get another opinion.
  12. I actually get a very small disability pension from the military for mine. I guess a .50 cal will do it no matter how many earplugs you have in.
  13. Shot a steel match a few weeks ago and quite a few were shooting 22's. I saw a ftf on virtually every gun. I asked a couple of the shooters what was up with that and they both said alot of 22 is crap these days. You have to buy top shelf stuff for good reliability. When did this all come about. It has been over 20 years since I played with a 22 and I never had these kinds of problems.
  14. Just received a small order from SSS today as well. (FO Rod) I was getting a little worried and impatient with Kenny but all is well. Thanks Kenny and sorry for badgering you about it. I will do business with SSS again.
  15. Has nothing to do with attention span. Cross contamination between food and lead can be bad. Lead contamination from Primer dust is almost impossible to eliminate from your work area, hands, etc. Just a heads up......Been there and have learned that lesson the hard way. So you are saying I should stop eating chips while reloading? Just kidding man. I feel ok drinking a pop though. Hey I wonder if the grease from potato chips would be a good case lube? just roll the brass between my fingers before loading. I hear you on the lead problem. I am pretty cautious about it. Thanks
  16. Ruger Blackhawk 44 mag Ruger single six 22 Ruger 22 Auto stainless bull bbl Ruger 22 Auto standard Colt Python 6" S&W 686 6" Colt AR-15 SA GI 45 ACP Beretta 92 SB Beretta 92F Beretta 682 Trap Combo S&W model 1000(first year produced) Remington 11-87 Skeet grade Winchester model 12 from 1959(my dads gun) H&R Huntsman .45 muzzle loader Remington 870 20 guage(my first gun) Remington 870 12 guage Walther pp 32 S&W M&P9c Why these guns? These are all the guns I have owned and sold. I should post this under what I hate!
  17. Did I say used enough? I am used to saying used whenever I use used dryer sheets. If you are used to not using used then I would use new and find another use for the used sheets Ah whats the use?
  18. I use used.sheets. They still have a little bit of scent left. I thought most use used.
  19. :surprise: I personally have enough of an attention span to be able to take a drink of pop every now and then while reloading. Given time I am sure someone will say music and reloading don't mix either.
  20. I actually found 3 thick area rug/mats that I stand on.
  21. I use fine walnut shells for a few hours then corncob with a touch of diluted nufinish. Very clean and shined nicely. All from pet stores or walmart.
  22. Then again I really believe in clean guns. I clean mine every time I shoot it. I spray gunscrubber in the striker and then blow it dry with a compressor. A lot of crap comes out of there usually.
  23. My PRO has never failed to fire. But I have never fired WWB. Remington UMC and reloads go bang every time. It did fail to load once If I remember right.
  24. I'm thinking you're confused. Perhaps they reduce BY 20db, but I don't think they could reduce TO 20 db. A whisper in a library is rated at 30db with normal conversation running 60 to 70db. I am sure you are right. but all I know is the echos are louder than the round going off.
