Don't know if this has been mentioned: Arrogant Bastard Ale You're Not Worthy !
  2. Scott is a very giving person. Are all your dogs foster? Sorry for your loss.
  3. I've ran across these in the business world: Richard Hangen Richard Koch - a lawyer Johnny Johnson - from Johnson City, Tn.
  4. I saw it in a small theater located next to a well known private liberal arts college. The place was jammed on a Friday afternoon matinee. Young people, middle aged people, old looking college professor looking types all in attendance. I thought the movie was done pretty nicely, did not know about a slim movie budget. Hope parts 2 and 3 are produced.
  5. Did we travel together in the past? I'm so glad that I don't have to fly anymore.
  6. Did you see the video footage of the TSA feeling up a 6 year old girl? What is next? Full body cavity searches? Handcuff everybody naked to the airplane seats? They are getting the population conditioned to more intrusive searches in the future, on the highway, in your home, etc. Where does it end?
  7. I'm going to open the gates at 7:15 Saturday to get the rifle range squared away. Sign in / registration will be held up on the rifle range by the club house. We will START CRACKING SHOTS at 10 am if enough people show up early. See you Saturday, Tim
  8. I had several questions about using "dots" on rifles in iron sight division. Decided to make a rule change: Tactical Iron Class rifles may be equipped with one non-magnifying optic in addition to or in place of Iron sights. This would include certain Aimpoints, C-mores, EOTech and similar.
  9. Updated approximate round count (minimum): I say "approximate because we have 1 "A / B" to neutralize on full size paper or 2 anywhere. Plus there is one stage that the shooter can engage steel targets with either birdshot (7 1/2 max) or pistol (shooter's choice), pick your poison. A few pieces of mean little steel on that stage. Some steel rifle targets are 4 MOA. 100 rifle 75 pistol 50 birdshot See you Saturday, Tim
  10. Same as always, never changes.
  11. Is there a place to look up classifiers shot at a particular club on the new USPSA website? Maybe I overlooked it.
  12. Mike Maybe next time Mike. Now you and that Frogman are going to have to hash that out yourselves. Maybe we will think about a Mano-a-Mano side match in October.
  13. Yes, push carts are allowed, even encouraged. We also have tables on each range bay to lay long guns on if desired. Tim
  14. I would prefer people to let me know if they plan to attend. It helps me to plan so the match will run smoother. Try this for GPS : (near the front gate) GPS Position: 80°32'7"W, 35°41'29"N Decimal coordinates (latitude, longitude) 35.690478,-80.53519 Tim
  15. Location : Rowan County Wildlife Association, 650 Majolica Road, Salisbury, NC 28145 $20 entry fee. 10 am sign up, 10:30 shooter briefing. Four stages - 1 stage out to 200 yards on steel, 3 stages CQB < 30 yards.. IMG style rules; 1 "A" or "B" neutralizes, or 2 hits anywhere. Full rules at http://rowanbb.drsus.com/ (under match schedule). You can see pictures and stage descriptions from the last years matches under June 2010 Stage Pictures - 3 Gun. Also walk-thru videos under November 2010 3-gun match. Tentative round count 75 rifle, 75 pistol, 75 birdshot, 5 slugs. You will probably take a few rounds home. Tim
  16. Scott, There is a new indoor range under construction at Eagle Rock (around the corner from the speedway). Don't know the opening date.
  17. How about assigning a set point value for each stage, say 100 points each. One stage would not over-rule several other stages and at the same time one stage will not totally trash your match if you screw up. I think Kyle L. did this years ago in NC. Then for long range targets make them a bonus, say 15-20 seconds each. That may make it worthwhile to actually, really, truly engage those targets. The shooters still will have to do the math and make a decision on how to shoot.
  18. I got one from a local shooter (to Charlotte). Keep your AV and spyware up to date.
  19. Thanks for the memories. The two men that helped me have since passed on.
  20. So I guess it would be okay if clubs set up the targets a foot left, right, high or low....that's not significant either. It's not OK but many clubs do that. What's your point? If it's not okay to set up a classifier with the targets off by a foot, why should it be okay to set one up with anything else different? Whether it's a significant difference or not, they should be the same everywhere right? That's the goal, for classifiers....as reasonably identical as we can make them. Further, I don't think a forward-falling popper is an insignificant difference. I know, for a fact, that I can double a popper with an Open gun faster than I can transition four poppers to the left or right (as in the stage I posted). Changing popper types changes the options that are available to the shooter. We shouldn't have a situation where one person shooting a classifier, at one club, has an option available that another shooter, at another club, doesn't have on the same classifier...that's all. It's not like it would be some monumental change...heck, maybe make it so that any popper used on a classifier has to be forward-falling. That would allow clubs that mandate them to be in compliance, and worst-case scenario, some club might have to buy half a dozen forward-falling poppers. Maybe just mandate forward-falling only on the classifiers where they obscure other poppers/targets...can't be all that many of them. That would mean even if a club couldn't afford new poppers, they could just avoid those handful of classifiers. Lots of pretty easy ways to avoid having things done differently from one club to the next.... I'm the MD of a range that requires forward falling poppers because bullet fragments leaving the range scared the hell out of the neighbors. It is what it is. This classifier (Hillbillton drill) has two poppers partially obscured by other poppers. Like Cha-Lee said, the absolute fastest way to shoot this is to slip a shot over the shoulder of the front poppers, nail the rear popper and continue on. Forward falling or rearward falling poppers makes no difference. I did it once and scored 2 classes higher. I shoot limited, so I don't see how anyone with a dot can possibly miss, especially at that short distance.
  21. Wouldn't it be easier to just cut a 20 inch barrel down to 16? Well I already have a 16" barrel that wacks 400 yard flash targets like nothing. It's just that heavier bullets in the 70+ grain range make for noticeable recoil. Just trying to stick with what I have.
  22. Has anyone ever CHANGED the length of a gas system on an existing 16", carbine length system? Not using a pigtail or anything like that. Something like drilling another hole further down the barrel and plugging the existing hole by tapping the existing hole, staking the set screw and putting a spot weld on for good measure? Maybe pressures would be too high.
  23. Match walk thru videos are posted on http://rowanbb.drsus.com/viewforum.php?f=9 Thanks to all who helped out and tore down afterward, you guys made it happen. Special thanks to Scott and Steve. See you next time. Tim
