  1. fair enough. It sounds like I should just drop in the Timney as-is and go from there. Just wasn’t sure if there was a “must have” from the get go.
  2. Hi all i currently have a zev trigger in my 19.3. What, if any, should I keep to get that same trigger pull/reset that tt350z has? I’ve been reading and watching videos and it looks like I either need a LWD overtravel stop housing, or JG vex shoe?

I just picked up a TS myself and am not feeling the blued finish of the slide. I saw a hard chromed slide from another member on this board (i think he's on this board). Anyways, I wanted to ask if there's anything I need to watch out for or know about if I decide to send the slide off to be refinished in hard chrome?
  5. Read the classified guidelines but it didn't mention anything specifically.
  6. davis would definitely be too far, thanks though... the trapshooter would be the closest... but still far for me.... maybe I'll give him a ring before planning to make that drive.
  7. So I searched "optometrist", "optician" + recommendation and didn't really find what I needed. What I did find (and was still helpful) were the dozen threads on frames and actual gear. What I'm looking for is a trusted, recommended optometrist who knows what to look for and correct for someone who shoots. My search so far, has only led to Norman Wong... but he's up in San Francisco which is too far for me. WIth that said... (and I know this is somewhat of a broad audience).... can anyone make any recommendations near the Los Angeles, Orange County, Inland Empire area of California?
  8. I'll try a light bullet too... Anyone see anything wrong with using clays for light bullets such as a 140gr?
  9. Yep... already engrained it in my head... clays for major = no no for me
  10. If you have an iPhone... SureFire makes a free app that works incredibly well. My roomate and I use it all the time at the indoor to time our splits, amongst other things. The only thing that sucks about using it at indoors is that it picks up everyone else's shots. We also tried it when we shot in the desert with high winds. Picks up all shots no problems. It even picked up the shots when I was shooting my AR with rimfire conversion.
  11. Just thought I'd updated everyone on what I ended up doing... I bought a lone wolf 35 slide and put the JPoint red dot on that slide. And then put sevigney competitions on the factory slide. So shooting either open or limited is just 2 minutes away from each other. I've noticed that my groupings are ridiculous with the red dot. I expected it to be better of course, but not this much better. I also notice how much i move with the red dot as compared to irons... I'll take this as a good thing... to learn to be more still I suppose. I just hope that when I do shoot irons... that my hits don't look like i was shooting with shotgun loaded with bird shot
  12. The smoke wasn't that much better with these particular bullets... but I'm switching to moly's soon. The lube crap gunks up my dies. But +1 for the clays recommendation! Have you tried clays and 200gr?
  13. So just an update... Unique Precision 180gr W231 @ 3.5 OAL average @ 1.135 WSP This was nice!!!! But smoky Same but with Clays @ 2.6gr = WOW.... SUPER DUPER soft! (Thanks Mark for the suggestion... I picked up 1lb... and I think I might just sell the rest of my w231 and buy more clays! ) I don't have a chrono yet... sorry!
  14. Well... went with 180gr from unique precision (ridiculously low prices!) W231 @ 3.5 grain OAL average = 1.135 WSP I don't have a chrono yet, so I can't tell for sure what kind of PF I've got... but it feels nice! Not so snappy like my 9mm 147gr loads
  15. I was putting together my caliber conversion together and the die set I bought was used. Before I assemble anything gun-related, i usually take he opportunity to clean. As I was taking the seating die apart, I noticed the inner part (the one that you flip depending on what type of bullet you're loading) wouldn't slide out after removing the pin that holds it. As I take a closer look I noticed a bunch of gunk/dirt in there. I ended up having to punch the piece out for a pen, and it was not easy. There was enough dirt and grime in there to change my OAL a good amount
