  1. So this is my first time to Pasa park. How long is the walk from the parking area to the stages? I am trying to understand if I can leave some equipment in the car (extra ammo, drinks, etc.) or do I need to hump everything around with me.
  2. With this long winter we are having, we should probably prepare for snow and ice instead of rain...
  3. Has anyone tried any of these? I'm interested in the results. Chris
  4. With three weeks to go, I would expect some chatter. Is the discussion going on somewhere else?
  5. If your question is regarding physical grip size, then yes, I would say this is a good platform to start on based on the modular back straps, and 9mm doesn't recoil much. My 8 year old shoots steel with the M&P22 pistol, and she loves it. Someone mentioned about the ability to hit the mag release button. That has been a challenge for all three of my kids as they have grown in this sport. They all have had to shift their grip on the gun, but as they grow this will be less of a problem.
  6. So this is the last local match I shot. While it may appear that I am slower than molasses in the snow, I have actually gotten faster. I know I need to get faster and do a better job of exploding out of position. http://youtu.be/O3TENgmvbWg
  7. According to Val at USPSA, they do not make retroactive changes to a competitor's classification.
  8. If they "adjust" the HHF, I hope they put me back in C class! That 80% run took me from 54% to 61.5%.
  9. I’m beginning to wonder if the percentages that are starting to come back on this one are inflated. I got an 80% on it with a production HF of 7.2239. That is 10% above any classifier I have ever shot in any division I am classified in. I’m wondering if this one hasn’t been shot enough to return statistically significant data…
  10. Ok, so if you crack open the second lot, then you go back and have it chrono'd?
  11. 7.2 Discipline of Match Officials 7.2.1 The Range Master has authority over all Match Officials other than the Match Director (except when the Match Director is actually participating as a competitor at the match), and is responsible for decisions in matters concerning conduct and discipline. If after talking to the RO, and he didn't change his behavior, talk to the RM, who is usually also the MD as Level 1 matches.
  12. My boys started at 9 with a Glock 34. My daughter is 8 and just started with a 22. Like others have said, depends on the kid. Maturity, judgement, etc.
  13. Pivo, if you are shooting Friday, show time is 7 am. For Saturday, 8 am is probably fine, but if you get to town Friday afternoon or evening, go to the range and check in to get your packet. You can ask the check in staff questions. There will most likely be a shooters meeting first thing Saturday.
  14. The packing has begun. 2 guns, 14 magazines, and 900 rounds of 9mm.
  15. There should be a "Bottom 20" list. I'd be on it: 60.23% in Limited. Yay!
  16. As you fill out your registration applications for the 2013 Gator Classic, please consider shooting Single Stack Division. A number of people I have spoken with say that they would shoot the division if only there was more competition. At the Alabama Sectionals this year, there were 26 competitors in Single Stack Division. I think that we could beat that at this year’s Gator. Since the creation of Single Stack Division, the Gator Classic has had between 11 and 16 competitors shoot the division. I know there are people out there that enjoy shooting the gun and would compete in the division if there was more competition. If you have a 1911 and would like to shoot it, but there just isn’t enough competition for your liking, please register for Single Stack division for the 2013 Gator Classic.
  17. We couldn't go last year due to work commitments, but we went in 2011 and my junior (Carter) shot for free. Barbara refunded the registration fee. Brandon, if you started shooting 3gun you'd need 6 more new guns!
  18. The guy with 2 new race guns for every division, and a full travel schedule to Area matches all over the country is suddenly worried about money? What happened, Brandon, didn’t make you 1st Quarter quota at work?
  19. Those two situations (Jerry and BJ) are exactly what made me question my call. Thanks for the rule citation, diehli. And Sarge, I did wait until he said "I'm done" before I gave him ULSC.
  20. I'm sure that this has been discussed before put I couldn't find it after 10 minutes of searching. Here's the scenario: At the start signal, shooter draws and immediatly has a malfunction that locks the gun up for a while. The shooter clears the malfuntion, but says "I'm done" before a single shot is fired. We go through the ULSC process and get the range clear. What is the ruling on how the stage is to be scored? Does the shooter get a reshoot? What is the rule number that supports your decision?
  21. I did what cpa5ohdid and it works fine.
