  1. +1 on the EGW U die. If you are not using the poweder check on your 650, rotate the powder measure around one location and install the U die, without decapping pin, in the powder measure's former location. By doing the initial size with your standard sizing die and sizing with the U die second, you will not noticed that much extra force to size with a U die. I started using that system with my 38 super and have had good results. Ray Van Valkenburg
  2. For 38 super, I have found Ramshot SILHOUETTE to meter very well. At Area for my extreme spread was 1 at the Chrono. I am not sure if the rifle powders meter as well. Ray
  3. Possible thread drift, but I am intruiged by the topic. If during a course of fire, with a loaded chamber, your slide falls off of the frame and the muzzle breaks the 180, would that situation be a DQ? Not trying to stir up a hornet's nest, just curious. Ray
  4. There's something I didn't think about. I just installed the TTU's on my 75B. It didn't look like they added any height to the gun. Looks like I need to find a box. Ray
  5. I trully enjoy SHO & WHO shooting. Since the fist time I shot a SHO & WHO classifier, I saw that as a skill the learn and master. Occasionally I will find stages that will give you an advantage to go SHO & WHO around a baracade and keep you away from foot faults. My $0.02. G-man you forgot Ballroom Dancing. Ray
  6. Thanks for all of the kind words. Running this match was quite an experience and hopefully I will learn from my mistakes. Here is a link to the match results. They are posted on Area 2's website. http://uspsa2.org/match_results/match_disp...&club=WWPSC Watch for more to come from WWPSC in the furture. Ray Van Valkenburg
  7. I will send the scores into Area 2 tonight and I will post a link here. It was very good to see Rod shooting. It's only been seven weeks since his surgery. Ray
  8. The weather has been great! I was worried after the last couple weeks. Looks like everyone has been having a good time. All of the squads shot 6 or 7 of the stages today. Should be a good finish. Ray Van Valkenburg
  9. The match will not be a lost brass match. Brass is too expensive to leave on the ground, I am dreading leaving once fired Super Comp at Area 4 this year. As far as shooting the match in one day, our staffing may not lend to that being possible. If someone needs to have a shoot-through, we'll have to address that on a case by case basis. I am going to try and get the stages posted, but no promises. Ray Van Valkenburg
  10. There will 9 stages and look for about around 250 to 300 rounds. Motor home parking is available, but there are no water hook ups. There is a couple of RV parks in Edgewood ( approx. 10 miles from the range) that do have water hook ups. Ray Van Valkenburg
  11. Just a reminder, the match fee increase is next week(Aug 25). Keep those Apps coming. Ray
  12. Ten minutes after watching and i still have the dry heaves!
  13. Match Hotel info: Holiday Inn Express in Moriarty, NM. (505) 832-5000 Mention " NM Section Championship " to get the match discount. 14. All, Saturday August 29, Wild West Practical Shooting Club will be hosting a 5 stage Steel Challenge match. We set up one the SC stages at last Saturday's match and had some fun with it. All SC divisions will be recognized. The match will start at 10 am. Match fee will $15 for the first gun and $5 to shoot a second gun. Thanks Ray Van valkenburg Wild West Practical Shooting Club
  15. I have carried the 23c for years. IWB or small of the back, it has always been extremely easy and comfortable to carry. I didn't care for the 26 or the 27, just due to my fingers hanging off of the bottom. Plus with the 23, 13 round factory mags. Ray
  16. I've had the pleasure of shooting with a man that was wheelchair bound down in Southern New Mexico, I can't remember his name. He had a nice chair set up with off road tires and a holster mounted and possibly mag pouches to the chair. When movement was involved, he would holster the gun and then move to the next location he needed to shoot from. He was always safe with his gun handling and had a good time shooting. Ray
  17. Glad to hear so many of you have had this much luck with the lense replacement. My dad had his first eye done on the 2nd and I believe he goes in this Thursday to have the second eye done. I've heard he has been walking around with one the lenses out of his glasses so he could walk without falling over. By the way, he had worn glasses for 50 plus years. Ray Van Valkenburg
  18. Need to fix a date discrepency. The cutoff for the Match fee is August 25, had May 15 in one location. Thanks to the guys in Los Alamos for noticing it. Ray Van Valkenburg NM_Section_Championship_App..doc
  19. One of the shooters out here works at a prison and he gets them for free. They were used for "Bio-degradable" soap. Ray
  20. I noticed similar dings on my Open gun while using a Recoilmaster. They were bad enough interfre with the barrell lug and had to be cleaned up. I have switched to a standard one piece guide rod and have not seen any further damage. Ray
  21. Thanks Jerry. Here is the revised application with mailing instructions at the bottom. Ray NM_Section_Championship_app.doc
