  1. Yeah, I haven't seen 8lbs of Titegroup for $115 lately, either.
  2. I used this to calculate how much $$/hour I was saving reloading. http://themxtrack.com/ReloadTracking2.xls
  3. I've heard this several times from Stan Johnson:
  4. That is very cool the way you caught the hammer and bullet/gas movement while your hands were motionless!
  5. Flexmonkey, please tell me you did that for/to me!
  6. LOL! I'm not sure of anything...how can I tell? Which way the rifle goes at the squeeze of the trigger. If it dips immediately, it's the comp, if there's a slight delay, it's the weight of the bolt carrier. Ahh...that explains it. It moves immediately downard, then hesitates for a very short moment, then wiggles/dips slightly lower again. I guess the first movement is the comp and the second is when the bolt comes back forward. I shot it before the comp and it rose, but from what I remember, it rose less than what it currently drops. Thanks!
  7. LOL! I'm not sure of anything...how can I tell?
  8. This thread was the closest I could find for this question: I have a Nordic comp on my M&P15T. Now that I think I have settled on a load that I like (55gr MG FMJBT over 25gr of 2230), I get a consistent and significant dip after each shot. Is there anything an amatuer gunsmith can do to reduce the downward movement? Would opening up the bore of the comp allow more gas to escape that way and cause less force to be directed upward?
  9. The only two I frequent anymore are this one for anything shooting related and http://DirtRider.Net for motocross.
  10. Wow! Thank you! Now that I know what I want to see (oops...am I starting down the wrong road here?), hopefully I'll be more aware if/when I do see it.
  11. Cool! How do I get one? Edit: The light system, I mean. I already have the chrono.
  12. He sure got a purty mouth!
  13. I started last year when 43. My then-10 year old also started last year.
  14. http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/6294811 Starting bid $350.
  15. This is no help toward clearing the case feeder, but it might help avoiding the problem... I do a rough sort first using the plastic sorters. 2nd step is then to clean using vibrating cleaner. I then inspect all of the brass while half-watching TV. I grab 5-10 and arrange them in my hand such that I can look down at the top of all of them to look for cracks or dents. I then roll them down my hand looking for dents, cracks, or bulges on the outside of the cases. While doing this I also catch any cases that are stuck inside another as well as separate the 10s from the 40s, the 380s from the 9s, and the 45 GAPs from the ACPs.
  16. The only safe place for me to put a camera if I was shooting that fast would be *IN* the A zone!
  17. They covered this sort of thing in the SC CWP class. In SC, if someone is endangering your child (or any other person, for that matter), you may be justified in shooting them. If they are stabbing your dog...you can't. In SC a dog is treated as "property" and you cannot use lethal force to protect property (again, in SC). Of course, it would be entirely possible that,in the course of attempting to retrieve your "property", they might direct their malicious activities toward you...at which point you would be justified in using lethal force to defend yourself.
  18. I'm probably going to be loaning a few toolheads to a friend to use on his 550 and I wondering if the dimensions of the press might be different enough to require readjustment of the dies and/or trimmer. Has anybody that swapped toolheads to another 550 found enough difference to warrant readjustment?
  19. Very cool! That sure gives you a great perspective to compare.
  20. Be careful bending that rod. They do break (once again, ask me how I know). The folks at Dillon were grea, as usuall. The conversation went something like this: "I need another rod that moves the primer bar out on my 550." "What's wrong with the one you have now?" "I was bending it to try to get more force and I broke it." "We'll send you another one." "How much is one?" "No charge." "But I broke it. It was all my fault." "Sir, it broke. We'll replace it. Now, if you want me to charge you for it, you'll have to tell me you lost it, not that you broke it."
  21. LOL! I've still got a few thousand...this is for Steve. BTW....thanks, guys! Brassman is also out so I forwarded him the links to the Cabellas options.
  22. Montana Gold does not appear to be accepting orders for .223 bullets at this time. My friend would prefer 55gr boat-tail.
  23. I use MTM 100 and 50 rounds boxes and carry them around in these: I had to use a dremel to trim it so the locks could hang straight down, though.
  24. Thanks! I'm going to try setting up a video camera to see if I am blinking. I'm also going to try the above with a .22 pistol to see if what I see is much different.
