  1. I never load 20, just 19. Similar, in the extended 9s I only load 22. What worries me more is that the extra drag of the top round on the bottom of the slide might interfere with it cycling properly.
  2. I'll be in Boston (Lexington) later this week if you want to take some time to work with it on my Droid.
  3. I have loaded and shot approx 4,000 rounds with Remington 7 1/2 Benchrest Small Rifle Primers. I've never had a slam fire from those. I did load a few with small pistol magnum primers and got a couple of doubles out of those. Can you guys educate me as to why a dimpled primer would be more likely to ignite? In my admittedly ignorant mind, it would seem that a firing pin hitting an already dimpled primer would result in moving the anvil less than a virgin one, making it less likely to ignite. Is there a magic point beyond which an anvil moves to ignite the primer or is it the distance it moves that really makes a difference. I know in previous, highly controlled primer testing I was able to pound primers flat with a hammer without igniting them.
  4. That gun's too pretty to eject brass! I know, I know...all guns do, but that's not what I want to think about when admiring the gun.
  5. Cool, thanks! Considering that I can sketch a gun faster than I can draw one, I think I better go read that again.
  6. A friend and his son just did 1000: http://rdytogo.blogspot.com/2010/03/iron-butt.html
  7. Are there any plans to make a 20 gauge clamp?
  8. I did notice that the $29 version does NOT have the micro-SD memory card included. Luckily, I already have a couple. I went ahead and ordered one. Thanks, Chris!
  9. Doh! The Quick-Edit only allows you to edit the body, not the subject. I just tried the Full-Edit and that worked...thanks!
  10. Thanks, guys! Could one of you change the Q to a DQ in the subject line? I was going to send a PM to Flex saying something descriptive, like: "Could you fix my post for me?" but figured he might DQ me from sending PMs.
  11. At a local steel match Saturday I DQ'd myself, but looking at the rules, not sure if it was required. Regardless of the rules, it was time for me to stop. I was shooting a Ruger Mark III 22/45 and an AR15 with a .22 conversion in it. When I finished one box of ammo and started another I started having feeding issues. It got really bad on the 5th and final stage. I had problems almost every string. Finally, on the 5 string, I had 3 different jams. I was getting frustrated. I cleared the 3rd jam, aimed at one of the targets, and click. Not sure if the round didn't fire or I didn't get a round into the chamber. Reseated the mag, racked the "slide", pointed at target, and click (again). Changed mags, racked slide, pointed at target, and click (again). Reseated mag, racked slide, then with gun still at chest level and pointed at the berm, I pulled the trigger. In my frustration I just wanted to see if it was going to fire. It did and I immediately realized I should have been more deliberate with my aim. From the Steel Challenge rules: Again, regardless of whether or not it was a DQ'able offense, I shouldn't have done it and it was time for me to stop. Lesson learned: When things go bad, don't let frustration affect your actions.
  12. There are several video links at the bottom left of their page: http://www.shootingusa.com/index.html They also lead to another site that apparently hosts them: http://www.myoutdoortv.com/main-homepages/shooting-homepage.html
  13. Great match! Hard staying awake on the ride home when all of my passengers fall asleep. Where can we find the results? I'm getting tired of my 12 year old beating me and hope that I got him this time.
  14. Ken, I have a few extra if you're interested. PM me a paypal address....
  15. Wow! Joe, thank you for so actively fighting for our rights!
  16. Cool! I culdn't find their price on the replacement rubber for them, though.
  17. Good to know about the matches. My sister lives nearby. If I come from out of state to a match, does anybody know if I can bring my hi-cap mags?
  18. I'm an easy going guy but if he got in my face and yelled at me that I was a liar and a coward, I'm not sure that I wouldn't dot his eye.
  19. He didn't get punished for having a dissenting opinion, he got punished for first degree rudeness.
  20. LOL! Welcome! Hey....you gonna finish that???
  21. 5.0 gr of WST behind a MG CMJ does not make major for me out of a 4.25" M&P. When I tried both regular and magnum small pistol primers, the chrono speeds were within 3 or 4 fps of each other, so very little difference for me.
  22. Very cool! You have every right to be proud!
  23. Leaving now to buy some Open class computers to help me be competitive for the sign up competition in May!
  24. Rifle, pistol, or shotgun...if I'm running right to left I hold it solely with my right hand, pointed downrange, with my wrist rolled over such that my palm is facing downard. The guys at the AMU Junior camp taught that to the kids and it has worked for me with rifle and shotgun, too.
