  1. KJ...welcome and thank you! Any idea where you'll be when you get back? For USPSA 3-gun I would look at Glock/M&P/XD(m) in .40 so you can get scored major and get 20 or so in the gun. For outlaw matches that don't differentiate between major and minor, one of the above in 9mm so you can get 23 or so in.
  2. From the trailer it looked like it would be funny. I guess I'll wait until some night in the distant future when it is on and Bloodsport isn't.
  3. Sarge, if you feel like hopping off that wagon while down in Atlanta, look me up. I'll be working stage 11. One thing that surprised me at the SC State match last weekend was how many people had FTEs on the stages where a lot of targets were only visible from certain places. I did notice that many of the top guys used their whole five minutes to keep rehearsing their plans whereas many beginners (like me) thought they had it down after a few walk-throughs and then skipped a target when it really mattered.
  4. I added the loop side of sticky-backed velcro inside 12 gauge 6 round California Competition Works stripper clips for my son that shoots 20. Works great.
  5. When I got my Droid, I thought that I wanted the slide-out keyboard. It turns out that the buttons are too small for me. I regret not getting the Eris, instead.
  6. I like the Droid. The navigation is incredible. My GPS died about the same time as my previous phone so I killed 2 birds with one phone. I've only found two negatives. The microphone pickup is partially blocked by most cases you put on and it is in a bad location, anyway. Several people have had a hard time hearing me and I'm not a quiet person. The battery life isn't too consistent (for me). It works like my gas gauge...150 miles to move off Full then another 150 miles to hit empty.
  7. When my youngest started at 9 1/2 years I did not let him shoot one handed. He just incurred the procedurals for the courses of fire that required it. After about a year he had demonstrated his ability to me that he could shoot one handed well enough during practice sessions to let him do that during the matches.
  8. Don't know, yet. It depends on what I find in the pawn shops on the way to Atlanta.
  9. Yes, it was a great Match. A big thanks to Linda, Jack, Julie, Tom, Donnie, and everyone else that made it so good. Glenn, it was fun shooting with you guys. Maybe one of these days we can plan a trip south for you guys to hit our local USPSA match and my reloading cave. Thanks to John2A for having us on his stage again this year. It's a pleasure to work with and learn from a CRO that knows his stuff. I did learn the hard way not to buy a gun on Thursday and shoot it in a match on Friday. Most people would have realized that when the front sight fell off during the exhaustived 30 round break in procedure. Luckily I had an extra front sight that I was able to properly align using my eyechrometer. That allowed me to give the gun a chance to see what other defects it had that didn't show up during the exhaustive break in. I had WAAY too much fun at and after the banquet! Tony should do standup. He is hilarious and his delivery is perfect.
  10. Yeah...congratulation, Jeremy! Though I think Cliff would have won if he hadn't shot Limited.
  11. Thanks, Bart! I can go back to sleep, now...I have learned my one thing for today.
  12. Hey...you said the gate would be open Friday morning. It's Friday morning, I'm here, and I can't get in! Help!
  13. Through an M&P 9 full-size (4.25"), 5.0 gr of WST gave me 1117 fps for 128pf with Montana Gold 115gr CMJ. Same load through a S&W 469 gave 1070 fps for 123 pf. From what I've heard, the plated bullets will go faster and generate more pressure.
  14. LOL! a Fullsize .40 with gold stencilling! Certainly doesn't look like the real thing...
  15. Is it a piece of playground equipment? Kind of like a human powered merry go round?
  16. Jack Suber's "I Am Legend" stage at the SC State USPSA match last year had us start with the dog leash in hand before shooting all of the zombies. Anyone have a pic of the mural he did for that stage? It was incredible!
  17. Brian's daughter. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=96095&view=&hl=BigJoni&fromsearch=1
  18. Wait...you mean you guys are from GEORGIA?!?!?! I mean, it would be different if you were from the *other* Carolina, but....
  19. Did she crash a H-D and really mean Panhead?
  20. I don't think you'd have any trouble at all. I-20 through here is now 3 or 4 lanes each way. It doesn't narrow down to 2 lanes until after the Riverwatch exit (last GA exit) and Masters traffic will have gotten off by or before then. Stay in the left lane and keep the hammer down (pun intended)!
  21. Looking forward to it. Thanks, Alan!
  22. Yesterday chrono'd some MG 180 CMJ-TC at 80 degrees through an M&P40. OAL was 1.130. 4.7gr of Titegroup averaged 911 for 163 pf. 4.9gr of Titegroup averaged 929 for 167 pf. Hmmm...just checked and 4.7 is max published load and will supposedly give 978 fps for a Hornady XTP 180. I got nowhere near that with the MG180. Ironically, I got better than published speeds out of the 9mm MG 115 JHP than what they list for Speer GDHP.
