  1. I'll second what GRD wrote.... If you decide to go with the Pact MkIV, definitely get EricW to do the mods for you. Besides the volume control, you can also adjust the mic's sensitivity.
  2. Flex... I have read that chart before but never really understood it. It the "actual" trigger pull weight the sum of PTP + TBP? Or the just teh TBP value?
  3. My G17 is set up with all stock spring and the 3.5# connector for a trigger pull of about 5.5 to 5.75 lb. What's your trigger pull weight with the "minus" connector and NY1 spring combo?
  4. Vince, thanks again for the clarification regarding the sights. I have to admit I don't quite understand why changing the recoil spring weight is not allow. I guess the line had to be drawn somewhere. I know Walther/S&W offers 2 different spring weight for my P99. I wonder if Glock does the same????
  5. Vince, a supplymentary question... Does Heinie's Slant Pro sights(black, without tritium inserts) conforms to the "... same type and kind offered by OFM....."? TIA
  6. Thanks guys for both your replies. Vince, you're correct I didn't go through the appendix carefully enough. I must have skimmed the first part of #20 when I read it. Jim, sorry if I wasn't clear in my question. I was asking specifically regarding the IPSC's Production division and not USPSA.
  7. Am I allow to use aftermarket stainless steel guide rod and recoil spring(specifically ISMI rod and 13# spring) in my G17 if I want to use it for IPSC Production? If I can't use the SS rod.. how about an ISMI spring with a non-captured Glock rod? TIA
  8. I use 1 type of bullet(MG 180gr JHP) and 1 load(N320) for both practice and matches.
  9. Roger, It looks great! BTW who makes the mag botton on it?
  10. It has been a few months since I posted my question, I thought I should give you guys(and gals) an update on my 650. I did end up going with a strong mount for the 650. And I solved my bench's height problem by cutting of 3" from it's leg. With the lower bench I could no longer reload comfortable standing up so I bought an adjustable stool for it. Thanks again to all for your suggestions and advices.
  11. Basically, what shred said... it depends on your needs. I too have a Shooters Connection's Tournament bag. It's huge and heavy but it's just the right size for me to pack all my stuff for the outdoor range. OTH I like the smaller i-shot Pro-Shooter's bag when I don't want to drag all my gears to the range or match. i-shot's quality is first rate and Helmie is an excellent guy to deal with.
  12. I use CR-Speed's Versa pouch for the first 2 pouches because they can be angle adjusted and Dave Elderton's Ky-Tac MP-1 for the last 2.
  13. FWIW I found the above to be true in my reloads too.
  14. Does your Norinco .223 ammo look like the ones in the pic below? FWIW my experience with them is quite different then yours in that I found them to be very inaccurate. Most shooters I know up here in Canada who uses these recent production ammo are getting no better then 2 MOA. Plus they smell bad too. However I have found them to be hotter then my normal Winchester Q3131 loads. When my 11.5" Bushmaster was having some short stroking problem with some other factory ammo, it never had any problem with the Norincos.
  15. Good work, Matt! I especially like the "Swinger Training Pt 2" exercise.
  16. I loved my Pact MkIV timer/chronograph, but I always thought that it would be a "perfect" device for me if it had a volume control. Well... I no longer have to wait for Pact to redesign the MkIV. I just received my EricW modified Pact MkIV. Eric added an amazing volume control to my unit. Now, I can dry fire at night and not have to worry about waking up the whole neighbourhood. The low setting was way softer then what I had expected. And the loudest was an "11". Eric also installed a mic sensitivity switch. Which is perfect for me since I shoot at both indoor and outdoor ranges. For a very reasonable price... these mods can be on your MkIV too. And if you mention you read about it in BE's forum, Eric might even include a "bonus" golden name tag on your timer.

    NAFTA at work

I think they like the modified timer so much they decided to keep it a while longer.
  18. EricW has finally lifted his years of embargo against Canada and accepted NAFTA.
  19. I have been looking for a "perfect" holster for my G17 for the past year. I have owned a Safariland's 560 CustomFit, BladeTech's straight drop, a "low end" Forbus paddle. Even Comp-Tac's excellent paddle wasn't the answer. For whatever reason none of them was quite the right fit for me. I have read some rave review about Dave Elderton's Ky-Tac holsters. At the same time, there were a few posts about slow delivery. I have to admit it was with some hesitancy that I gave Dave a call 3 weeks ago. He was most helpful on the phone in helping me decide the correct holster and mag pouch combo. We talk about delivery time. I told him I had a match in 5 weeks. He said he will get it to me in 4 weeks. He told me to give him a call after 3 weeks to check on the status of the order. Much to my surprise when I call after 20 days I was told the holster was sent 4 days earlier and amazingly it arrived the next day after my call. In case you were wondering why it took 5 days for the package to arrivee... it's because he had to send it from Okahoma to Canada. And he only charged me "actual shipping" instead of some inflated "International order surcharge". Anyway, I have had a couple of days of dry firing and a range session with the KT-2. Dave was not kidding when he told me it's a "fast" holster. The workmanship, fit and finish on the holster and mag pouches were excellent. I know where I'll look the next time I need a kydex holster.
  20. Here you go: http://www.egw-guns.com/parts/parts_dies.htm
  21. I have been carrying and cutting with a CRK large Regular(hmm. can it be large and regular at the same time? )Sebenza.
  22. dp40, I really like the cuts you did on the slide. Did you do them to lighten the slide or is it just for aesthetic?
  23. FYI Dillon HP-1s are manufactered by CED.
