  1. Depends, what pistol are you shooting. My Glock 34 runs fine with brass reloaded in Lee dies. A pistol with tighter tolerances will be a different story.
  2. Whether you call it the Civil War, the War of Northern Aggression, the War Between the States, or the Late Unpleasantness, today is the 150th anniversary of the attack on Fort Sumter and the beginning of one of the most influential events in US history.
  3. Been there and done that. I learned from it and now pay strict attention to the COF.
  4. I visually pick out pieces as I sort and clean. Usually I can tell difference when I size on my 550b. The resizing effort is much less. If I miss it then the brass pops out when I try to seat the primer. I too have had one .380 come out loaded.
  5. Wow, glad I revisited this string. There some top level shooters that will have to do some cleaning also.
  6. Come out shooting also. There's a match a weekend around the Atlanta area.
  7. On March 29, the model 1911 is one hundred years old. John Browning's design has gone through its ups and downs, but it keeps on. Thanks to Mr. Browning, arguably the best gun inventor of all time, for designing a great pistol. I have great memories of the 1911A1 from early in my military career. Last time I qualified with one was in 1991 and I managed to shoot expert. A few months later we transitioned to the Beretta model 92. The picture below is of my 1911, serial number 67,xxx made in 1913. I don't shoot it much, but I have started to shoot my STI Spartans in 9mm and .45 a lot more. Happy birthday 1911!
  8. Still enjoying the show for all of its weaknesses, but I'm disappointed with who has been eliminated so far.
  9. I've actually sold what little siver and gold I had. I bought it years ago (siver was $3 or so and gold about $350). Wondering if the commodities market is becoming a bubble market like real estate. Several financial guys indicate there will be a price correction. Market is just too hot to jump in for me. I'll keep investing in guns.
  10. I have 9mm and .45 Spartans. Both are accurate and the .45 is absolutely reliable. The 9mm runs with minor loads with 124 MG hps, but sometimes will not extract. The extraction problem is going away as I shoot it more. I am very happy with both.
  11. Not many real gunshops left. Most are just stores that happen to sell firearms and stock few if any accessories. Even fewer reloading supplies.
  12. It's cool in an odd way. Well done, but why rabbits? -D
  13. Like this? I read the Wiki explanation and it made my head hurt. Now I remember why I have a forestry degree.
  14. Had to post somewhere you'd see it. I wanted to get married in bay 5 at EAGC, but she refused to get married at a match (she as worried about tripping over her veil while running a stage)we went with plan "b" and had a small wedding (eight people incuding the b&g and chaplain) on post.
  15. Today Katsmama, she's a member here, and l got married. We are looking forward to shooting many matches together.
  16. Wonder how long it will actually take for it to hit the shelves. It seems like it takes a Ruger about a year from announcement to seeing it in stock. The announcement says shipping in February, but I remain skeptical.
