  1. Hey Keith, Glad that you guys came down to shoot here. 4 misses - ouch!!! You would have really cleaned up without those misses. I didn't get a chance to talk with everyone, I shot on Friday and was only there Saturday morning. Is the Minnesota sectional the same as the one that was held at Del-Tone last year? I think we met up there last year. Lori and I are still talking about going to the Minnesota sectional this year. Skip
  2. Another Iowan who won't be returning. Best of luck to those that do make the trip... Skip
  3. Lori and I will be shooting on Friday. I'll be in revolver (really wish I could be shooting with the revolver squad) and she will be shooting in L10. I'll be down Saturday afternoon to help out where needed... Skip
  4. I looked at the CGR race cut sights, but I went with a standard set from Brownell's. I don't think that I would want the rear sight cut any wider, but that's probably up to each person. The front sight uses a screw to hold it on. I had a tool from a previous sight installation. If you could find a small enough socket or nut driver that would work, too. Make sure that you use locktite to hold it on. I have a sight pusher that I picked up somewhere in the past. I suppose a brass or plastic rod could be used to tap the old sight out and the new sight in. Just take your time and go slowly.
  5. I just put a set of Heinie slant pros on my G35. I really like them a lot...
  6. Mike, That was the plan, but I'm out of match winnings already... Skip
  7. Hey Mike, Sounds really good. However, until my job situation clears up I can't commit to anything right now. I would hate to say yes and then have to back out. Skip
  8. Hey Everyone, As I getting ready to load some .38 special loads, I found out that the last box of primers that I bought were magnum small pistol primers. I have no clue to where the receipt would be, so I am stuck with them. Can use these for .38 special and .40 S&W loads? Neither load will be hot loads... Thanks
  9. JayC with a revolver? I like it. Does HK make a round gun? I'll give you 8 dollars for your tactical... Skip
  10. Gary, What brand is the top moon clip holder that you show? Skip
  11. I like most of what I see. I have been using Blade-Tech moonclip holders. I have never used any other kind. What kind of moonclip holders will now be legal? Skip
  12. Why not let the 8 shot revolvers shoot in CDP? They can only load 8+1. If both are shooting 165 power factor that's a pretty level playing field. Skip
  13. Sounds like the barrel length and weight issues will be straightend out (except for 610's maybe). It sure looks like an equipment race will be coming up for ESR. An 8 shot 4 inch revolver won't come cheap. I'm glad I already have a 627... Skip
  14. My wife and I have the pleasure of shooting with young Sam and old Mike about 3 times a month. Great people to know and shoot with. It's really nice to see the sport recognize the value of young shooters and the parents that help them along. Skip
  15. Good question. Right now I'm sure a lot of the IDPA revolver shooters are asking the same question. I like revolvers because they are harder to shoot, harder to reload, and I don't have to pick up my brass. The revolver shooters are real good bunch of people. They seem to enjoy their guns in a different way from the other shooters. Skip
  16. Did anyone else notice that item 5-C for ESR states that the maximum weight is 42 ounces? According to S&W's website my 4inch 625 weighs 43 ounces, a 610 weighs 45 ounces, and a 627 weighs 44 ounces. Skip
  17. Hey All, Just coming over to USPSA from IDPA. I have been shooting a 625-4inch with a power factor of 142. The local USPSA club does shoot a fair amount of courses with 40-45 yard targets. I was wondering if the 5inch would be that much of a help. Also, I would like to start loading up to major power factor. Again, would the 5inch help tame the increase in recoil. If this is worth it, I would keep my current 625 and pick up another 5inch one. Thanks
  18. I ordered a pair of sunglasses from NYX Golf. I got a pair of prescription lenses that fit on the inside of them. They work perfect. For normal reading I need a +2.0, but for shooting a +1.0 allows me to see the sights perfectly. The target is a bit fuzzier, but good enough for 25 yard IDPA shots. There is a good article on them at SportShooter.com. Try this link http://www.nyxgolf.com/index.html
  19. I got some .45 200 grain plated round nose from West Coast Bullets with my last order. Does anyone have any data on the proper length for these? I will be shooting them in my S & W 625. Thanks
