  1. I ordered a trial pack also, but was more interested in shooting them in a Glock. 125 rounds later and all is good in my G17. Might give them a try in the revolvers too and that would simplify keeping bullets on hand.
  2. Not to say spending money on primers wouldn't be wise but where's the fun in not changing things up a bit. If I was happy with the status quo I'd still be shooting a stock Glock. That also maybe one of my downfalls; getting bored and wanting something new and different.
  3. Actually I'm wanting to replace the barrel on my VComp to reduce weight and figured while I was at it I might have the cylinder cut back. Trigger work has already been done to so nothing to be gained in the trigger department. My other thought is to buy a cheaper 627 and start over and get a lighter barrel installed on it.
  4. I've been thinking of having a 627 cylinder shortened to SC length. I'm guess the reduction in mass will equate to a reduction in trigger pull. Anyone done this and how much if any difference did it make? Thanks in advance.
  5. I use a 9x19 U die and Lee FCD. Have only fired a few Supers in it, never 9x21 or 9x23. I've been told .380 will also work but never tried it.
  6. I have a 9x23 686 use 9mm in TK clips. Will run on 9x19, 9x21, 9x23, .38 Super. Works great I used it mostly for Steel Challenge and local USPSA matches. Sits in my safe now and seldom gets used.
  7. They put on a good match. I make one or two a year when I make the trip home and get to shoot with my son when I'm there. Ed it was good to be able to shoot with you and I think Chris was glad to get to shoot with you and maybe have a shooting buddy more or less local to him.
  8. taper crimp no issues minor or major
  9. .38 Mids and SC I size in 38 spl and crimp with Lee 9mm factory crimp die.
  10. I use the 9mm feed tube also and zero problems. I'm disappoint in myself for how long it took me to figure out to switch from the 38 spl feed tube.
  11. I've used my M10-10 for Steel matches and with my old eyes can't see sights very well. My fix was to use yellow sight paint on the front sight and for me works well.
  12. I shoot SC with a 6" 386 and love the gun and do well with it. If I were shooting a match where I really want to place well instead of making noise and having fun I shoot a 627 for the extra round. Yesterday I shot a boot leg SC match I run with a M10 and did pretty well with it, I was a bit slower knowing I didn't have much if any room for misses. If I were buying one revolver to do everything with it'd be a 8 shot.
  13. Abe Lincoln Vampire Slayer was historicaly more accurate from what I've read about B&C.
  14. I'd drive 400 miles to see someone shoot the center of the star and knock all the plates off with a .500 Mag in a match, or clear a plate rack with one shot.
  15. I read the book, doubt I ever see the movie.
  16. Club I use to shoot at had a Pistol Caliber Carbine outlaw division at their monthly USPSA match. We used the same COF as the pistols and often shot with them. There was a mix or carbines used but I think the hot platform ws a 9m AR with a dot.
  17. Personal choice and what works for you. I'd like the lighter weight of a slab side barrel over a VComp. With that said I've been shooting my VComp without the comp since 1st of the year. I also find the front sight on the VComp really easy to see.
  18. You'll see a lot of the same people there as here, and a lot of the same or similar topics.
  19. I did figure out one or two chambers were the problem. Loaded two rounds in a clip and identified the two chambers that don't work. Soon as I get my shipping label it'll go back and I bet return with a new cylinder.
  20. In the past I've work holidays and weekends. My wife (RN), daughter (RN), and son (OSP Trooper) all work weekends and to complicate it they all work nites too. Makes holidays a non event most of the time.
  21. Huge differance between shooters and gun owners or as one of my shooting friends refer to them; Gunstore Commandos.
  22. I just crossed the line a few days ago to register as a senior, not sure if I like it or not.
  23. I had just got a new Limited 2011 and was shooting a GSSF match the next day so I took it to shoot for the first time on the practice plate rack. Got a lot of looks and comments, even a few wanting to shoot it. Didn't use it in the match.
  24. Alabama is full?! I thought I saw they had some openings Regarding GA Steel match where can you get info on it. I emailed the match director a few times to get an registration form and there was always some reason why it wasn't available. Isn't that match the last part of January? Maybe I'm wrong but I thought Al was full. Google Griffin Gun Club or GA. State Steel match. Match is Jan 31/Feb1. 1/2 day format, I'm shoot 4 entries over 2 days.
