  1. Eric: You said: "And yes, a dog food bin was the basis for the initial idea. It's so obvious, I can't believe nobody's done it yet" I posted on this thread last month and revised a few things in my loading scheme based on your nifty idea. I thought it was from a cat food dispenser but I should have guessed your dog was the inspiration. You said: " It's an idea I really wish Dillon would pick up and run with. With a pair of super-bins and a primer feeder and you can go a long way to keeping pace with a 650." You know you are right. Even if you don't want to press yourself for speed its just smart to eliminate the " time waster's" in the reloading process. Thanks,
  2. Jake Di Vita wrote: "Best case scenario is to get to the point where you can score your targets real time as you are shooting them" I would really like to experience that on a regular basis. Regards,
  3. Derrick wrote: " Watching the top dogs shoot, I've come to think that it's not who pulls the trigger the best, reloads the fastest, or who can transition from box A to box B who wins. It's the shooter with the ability to get through the match with no mental mistakes. And that's where I want to be." Its just like you to want to be the one to get through the match with no mental mistakes. Just exactly like you. Regards,
  4. Hey those were good. I got the majority of them and thats why I'm from Dallas. Regards,
  5. I think my Timer may be related to yours. Once mine jumped out of my range bag and hid on top of my desk under some papers. A different time when my schedule was tight my timer spit out its battery when I was not looking. Shucks the range is 20+ miles from my house or I would have made it walk home. Sheeesh! Seriously, I have been following this thread like a schoolkid. I know you were not pleased. Talk to us later. Regards,
  6. Now that is funny. My coffee is splattered on the keyboard but it was worth it. Truly outstanding picture of the dog. Regards,
  7. Wow! To think I actually missed that article the first time.
  8. I met Steve at an OK IDPA state championship match a couple of years ago. He seemed to be a nice guy who was a great shooter. This last spring I talked to him again by phone and we traded a few e-mails. He turned out to be a very nice guy, who treated an average shooter such as myself, absolutely as an equal. This is very sad news. He will be missed. God Bless his family, his girlfriend and his many other close personal friends, all of us in the shooting sports share your loss. Mike Kerr
  9. This is the first time I have seen Eric's idea. Not bad at all for volume but a little tight on hand room. I can see what Eric means on loosing time reloading your tray or bin every 100 rounds or so. I use the strong mount and a plastic dinner plate with sides like a shallow tray. Its as close as I could come to Dillon's shape on the bullet tray. Has plenty of hand room with low side height, which is very important to long term loading sessions. It only holds about 140-160 pieces of brass so I'm going to modify Eric's invention to improve the capacity of my tray. With my plate (tray) you can brush your hand sideways from time to time and keep a majority of the brass pieces upright. The biggest drawback to the blue akro bin in the picture is that it is relatively narrow with deep sides which equates to cramped hand muscles IMO. As good as their bullet tray is, this new bin seems lacking. Regards,
  10. Thanks, I appreciate the research and time you put into the list. Regards,

I use the Black Bullet (Precission). 230 Gr Rn over 3.9 gr of Clays will make major without much to spare. 4.0 gr of Clays gives me a comfortable cushion. Clays is really quiet as well as soft. I have used VN 320 and will again- its good also. Regards,

Duane Thomas wrote: ____________________________________________________________________ The problem with getting truly first rate articles in the Tactical Journal (he said from his experience as a full-time free-lance gunwriter) is they don't pay anything. Those of us who get paid money for our writing....well, there's a reason they do that: we're good at it. The TJ, on the other hand, relies on free submissions from their readers. Having said that, I'm actually (gasp! shock!) going to be doing an article for the Tactical Journal in the near future. " ____________________________________________________________________ Well that will be good see. You know some of you writers could start a hell of a fan base by doing some "Pro Bono" writing for fledgling (Ha, Ha) organizations. Then when the big bucks start rolling in - there you are. Seriously, any professional help you can give the Tactical Journal should be appreciated. Regards,
  13. I don't think a new organization is the way to go. Shooting sports are fragmented enough right now. A groundswell of letter writing by the general membership might help. Shared responsibilities outside of the existing power position might help. Argh!!! Growing pains. Regards,
  14. I would not remove it. I would have headquarters give "more direction and clarification from the top" as to when it should be applied. Regards,
  15. Great thread. I hope a lot of people who visit BE.com see it and are encouraged by the deals available. CDDN investments is on the web and you should check their catalogue. Do a google for CDDN INVESTMENTS. They handle a lot of Police trade ins. Example: 1. Glock 22 with night sights and one 15 Rd mag- $349- Tutone version $359. 2. Glock 20 with 15 Rd mag tutone- $369 3. Beretta 92G 9mm -15 Rd mag $319. Beretta 96G 40S&W 11Rd $329. Both with night sights. They have many others and tons of mags, and general gun goodies. You can actually download the catalogue (look for the download icon) although the site says they don't advertise guns online. They will send you a softcover Catalogue several times a year once you order from them. Regards,
  16. _____________________________________________________________________ " You guys crack me up. You're complaining about rules that are not even real for all you know. Why not wait for the book before complaining?" Ted ___________________________________________________________________ The existing rule book is dated 5/01. I now have 4 of them. Soon after the 5/01 release of the current book many major issues were going to be addressed "In the New Rule Book". In fact the " New Rule Book" may be a placebo. We, the members, have been waiting for three and a half years. The sport is fun but it sure needs some official updating. In the meantime the rules have changed - frequently by semi official utterings that then become official by SO implementation and interpretation. It may not be that way everywhere and at every match but it happens. As a result, a lot of people grasp at any reasonable or semi reasonable rumor that seems official enough to be real. I think its just a natural reaction from folks who want the sport to flourish and grow, to cuss and discuss. To bad we are usually only given rumors to talk about. Regards,
  17. Ron Ankeny wrote: " Yeah but...I sold them to raise the money to buy...more guns. " I totally resemble that remark. CZ's are habit forming-just like the man says. The durn things are a pretty well kept secret but great fun. That is still a very impressive Bill Drill. Regards,
  18. " I'm sorry, I can't forget about ballistics since this is ballistics. " It is also confusing. Such is life. Regards,
  19. A Para LDA is legal for SSP no matter the caliber. " The LDA in any factory caliber is OK for SSP but remember adding a magwell is not an approved addition for that class. "---Yup! Thats what I hear. Regards,
  20. Well my two year wait is over. I lurked for a year, was a member with one post for the next two years. Now I am loose. I thought about this for two years and decided its nearly impossible to pick an all time favorite and stick with it. So I will go with my favorite five (since I have stuck with them for some time). E.T. and Shrek for the sentiment and the reaction of the kids of all ages. The Godfather and the Untouchables because I've watched both, all the way through, at least 4 times; parts of them a dozen more times. Star Wars for its initial impact and the changes it brought to movies. Somehow the Green Mile and Shawshank keep trying to worm their way up the ladder along with Saving Private Ryan. Sheesh. Hard question. Regards,
