  1. For you Cerakote guys, how does the air dry stuff work? Or is the oven cured the way to go? Thanks Kevin
  2. Me too!! I thought I was gonna do some good with those, but finally stopped. It's better if I just go shoot, then ice.
  3. Go here, pick your caliber and frame size. They'll list what thickness clips work with which brass. FWIW I love my 625. http://www.tkcustom.com/cart/shopdisplaycategories.asp?id=49&cat=S%26W+Moonclips
  4. I got some ebay TTS knock offs I've been pretty happy with. http://www.ebay.com/itm/251139490102?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  5. I don't seem to be able to find those anymore, is there a different link? And thank you very much for archiving all of that! Kevin
  6. I gotta give you props for using HeeksCam, I couldn't get the hang of that at all. It was super handy to convert some .igs models I downloaded online to .stl for MeshCam though. As always beautiful work in the last few posts. Thanks again for this awesome thread! Kevin
  7. http://www.sharpshootersupply.com/ Maybe this guy, he sells a 9 round mag. I haven't personally used them.
  8. The link worked for me, nice write up. Thanks
  9. That sucks, best wishes for him. And good luck with the prosthesis! Kevin
  10. If the slide moves freely without he rod attached then absolutey this^^^^^^. Bullet points 4 and 7 especially. Took me a while to actually understand the effect of the rod adjustment on the slide. It has to be square and low enough on the press to kick the slide out all the way.
  11. That's hilarious, I didn't even think about it. Not enough coffee yet this morning. Good call DP
  12. Two 930's, two dummy rounds in the tube. Both guns released two shells and jammed up.
  13. Thanks for the inspiration!!!!!!!!! http://s1239.photobucket.com/user/kevinj308/library/G0704
  14. No problem! I've been inspired by this thread so thanks to OG! Hoss has got a lot of info on his site but it's a little unorganized. This page was pretty useful to me in understanding what the electrical side of things looked like http://www.g0704.com/G0704_electronics.html I was on my phone earlier here's his monster thread on cnczone http://www.cnczone.com/forums/benchtop_machines/111863-hosss_g0704.html It took me days to read it all, but it was worth it. His is certainly not the only way to cnc a g0704 but he's done a lot of trial and error for the rest of us for sure. This is another thread by a benos guy http://www.cnczone.com/forums/benchtop_machines/122462-pm-45_computer-numeric-control_conversion_rf45.html Not a g0704 but still a great thread on a beautiful cnc build. A lot to learn in there too. I hope to order my mill this week and have working cnc by the middle of next year. That's my plan anyway, the more I've read the more I've realized how complex the build CAN be. StraightUp's build was AWESOME!!! Take care Kevin
  15. G0704.com, guys name is Hoss. He's got a monster build thread on cnczone.com too. It's linked from his website. A ton of info to go through. Or cnc fusion.com sells a hardware kit too. If all goes well I'm ordering one this week!
  16. I think that was in "Outliers", also by Gladwell. Both good reads.
  17. 10,000 hours of repetition. I don't think just anybody can do that. What a tremendous amount of dedication and hard work. Somebody around here has a quote by Travis Tomasie in their sig line :" If your practice these drills for 9 hours a day for 10 years you may actually get good at them." I think there's a lot too that. Here's a thread I found by searching for that quote http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=105450 Great thread, thanks for posting. I'm gonna go find a copy of that magazine. Take care Kevin
  18. http://blog.cnccookbook.com/2013/07/26/great-cnc-gunsmithing-thread-on-brians-forums/?utm_source=CNCCookbook+Blog+Posts&utm_campaign=b6dd6b746e-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_df8004b230-b6dd6b746e-45461045 You're famous:)
