  1. You're welcome! Glad I could contribute a little. That zip is pretty cool. I need to run the code in a sim to see how it looks. It'll be a while before I have a machine to try it on.
  2. Thanks! I am happy to be able to contribute to a site that is overflowing with awesomeness! UPS brought me the buffer tube tap for the lower today. Man it is HUGE! Going back in the thread a little. Been reading a lot and found this. Cool youtube channel, and a video of him thread milling the buffer threads in a lower. A good link for a tool supplier as well. The supplier has a .zip download that will spit out gcode for thread mililng. He uses it in the video, looks like a time saver. Kevin http://www.advent-threadmill.com/downloads.html
  3. That was really good advice, thanks again. Did a a lot of reading and the G0704 really is a better deal than a SX3. I wouldn't say the ZX/PM 45 is in the same price range as a an SX3 for CNC, especially after reading 50 pages of jid2's build thread lol. But you're absolutely right that the 0704/BF20 is a great deal. You actually talked me into a smaller toy, usually I get talked into more expensive ones. Kevin And to OG and jid2, if either of you guys still has time for dry fire I'm very disappointed in myself. Beautiful work, keep it up!
  4. I only see the quotes in Brian's and poison's posts. Not sure of there was a reply or not. Both have been edited.
  5. As I'm going back and looking at the G0704 again I see that the head does 90deg as well. So really it seems for some extra weight and cost the SX3 gives a little larger window to work in.
  6. For all you G0704/BF20 guys, why? And why not the SuperX3/G0619? I've read some threads on cncfusion, spent some time on Hoss's site g0704.com, but wouldn't mind hearing some benoverse opinion on the two. Was it the cost, the weight of the machine, a design issue? ETA I kinda dig the ability of the SX3 head to rotate 90deg. I've got a manual Bridgeport at work and I've used that feature before. I've found the need to tilt the head in the X and the Y on occasion. Really came in handy, not often, but when I wanted it was glad it would do it.
  7. Here's a good place for some gcode info http://www.cnccookbook.com/CCCNCGCodeCourse.htm Also the Mach3 and LinuxCNC user manuals both have detailed descriptions. Just google them and download the pdf. They're both good reading if you're thinking of cnc.
  8. sh*t happens bro, learn and move on and have a few drinks lol. Could be welded up though if you wanted too. If not match the other side and it'll be a one off for sure! I broke a $600 casting a couple weeks ago. Didn't see an internal snap ring on the blue print. Went to press a bearing off and kablamo! Don't know if that'll make you feel any better, but misery might like a little company. I definitely had a couple when I got home. ETA how about a smiley face? Make it a happy gun. Would be a cool cnc job to make the arc.
  9. Welcome to the forum! Not true. You can't buy them anymore. Posession is not illegal.
  10. Just texted a buddy I remembered had that prob. He says he loaded to 1.086, correction, in a conversion barrel in a g35. His Springfield XD runs 1.135 no prob. Hope that helps. ETA I'll email him this thread see if he can chime in.
  11. Wow. You know some one else may chime in here but that looks like a chamber issue to me. Not necessarily a bad chamber just maybe on the very tight side. How does it shoot like that? Have you tried it? Appears that the amount of bullet in the case is the same as the Extreme's. Should be a safe load case volume wise.
  12. 1.125 OAL? I honestly don't know. I seat until the shoulder of the bullet just protrudes beyond the case. Maybe .030" or .040" of lead past the shell case. Has always worked well for me with any type of bullet in any pistol caliber. The BIG exception being .40 major that needs to load long. I don't use a load combo like that for that reason. Hope that helps.
  13. 4.1 of 231 has worked for me, does 1032fps out of a 5". Clays hasn't been good for me in 9mm, 231 works fine.
  14. "If one wishes to perform an action with balance, efficiency, and grace, one should strive to perform ALL tasks with balance, efficiency, and grace." that's good stuff. thanks
  15. You know between iTunes and amazon we found that some shows were free on one service and not the other. Not always the case but it paid to shop around.
  16. Sorry I don't know about the Samsung app. If you can't find the app to download I don't know what to do. It was already on my ps3. $7.50 a month? No kidding? I've got that either on the ps3 or appletv. I'll check it out. Thanks. I liked Leary a lot as a stand up. I'll put rescue me in the watch list. Thanks for the tips!
  17. Dexter is awesome streaming. I think there's a lot we would have missed if it was one episode a week. Lots of little details, sub plots.
  18. You can pay for a service from Netflix, Amazon, or through your Itunes account if you have AppleTV. Im sure there are others. For a fee you can watch their content, tv shows and movies, right over your internet connection. The streaming is that it comes over your internet connection rather than you having to use physical media, like a dvd or something.
  19. I don't know about Netflix, but we have Amazon Prime. I stream it through my PS3. The wife and I have enjoyed Breaking Bad, Homeland, Dexter, Sons of Anarchy, and Downton Abbey(yeah I know it's a chick show, but I liked it too). We just started Justified, the jury is still out on that one. We're kinda warming up to it after a few episodes. We really like being able to power through episodes, usually a few a week. It makes remembering all the little details easier. For us anyway we get more out of the series. Kinda like finishing a book in one sitting. How was Rescue Me? Dennis Leary right?
  20. Hey OG got a set up question for you if you don't mind. Does your PC running LinuxCNC have a parallel port on the mother board or did you add a PCI card? Just curious. I've been playing with LinuxCNC on Ubuntu 10.04 and also the Mach3 demo version. I don't have a mahcine to run , just checking out the software side of things. Unfortunately my Win7 64bit is a problem for the Mach3, there's solutions but they aint free. Soooo Linux is looking better if I can throw an inexpensive card in. BTW that 2011 looks AWESOME! NICE WORK!
  21. This is good advice. Bedding can perform well though, and if you're gonna do it here's an article on the subject. http://www.6mmbr.com/pillarbedding.html
  22. I've interchanged magnum and regular small pistol primers quite a bit. No appreciable difference. But always be safe, drop the load a couple of tenths and chrono. Kevin
  23. Just to add to the chorus, 1000's of Bayou's and they are all evenly coated.
