  1. The 10 oz slide weight is without the slide racker, but with the firing pin, spring, extractor, and stop (same for Trubor weight). I will not be able to post a picture of the stop until next week, but it is very different from anything I've seen before. Sort of like a wedge, with the taper starting around the firing pin hole and almost making an edge at the the bottom. I suspect that 3N37 and N350 might make 160 PF in the MM, but with very full cases.
  2. Here are some loads I have chronoed for my 9x19 Trubor. DISCLAIMER OF ALL WARRANTIES CONCERNING THIS INFORMATION: These loads are SPECIFIC FOR MY GUN, and YOU CANNOT ASSUME THAT ANY OF THESE LOADS ARE SAFE IN YOUR GUN. You should note that I tend to tolerate some PRIMER FLATTENING AND FLOW, and be aware that many if not all of these loads EXCEED the SAMMI maximum recommended pressures for 9x19, some likely by substantial amounts. To develop a load for your gun, start with a load published by a powder vendor an work your way up gradually. Edit to add: My current favorite in the Trubor is 8.2 gr True Blue, MG 121 gr IFP, 1.168 OAL. Trubor.doc
  3. more pictures I have not used the gun in a match yet, and have only had very limited range time with it, not enough to really see the differences between it and the Trubor. It does seem to have a bit harsher recoil impulse, but not unpleasant, just different. The only load I've tried is 8.25 gr True Blue, 121 gr MG IFP, 1.168 OAL, WSR primers, mixed brass. At 90 degrees, 300 ft altitude, it chronoed at 170 PF. Same load in the Trubor was 173 PF. If that difference holds across all loads I've tried in the Trubor, I can use True Blue, Silhouette, HS-6, and WSF; I doubt if the 9x19 case will hold enough 3N37 or 7625 to make major in the Match Master (they're compressed loads in the Trubor to make major), and N350 will be iffy. Although I understand others have made major in 9x19 with Longshot, Power Pistol, and 3N38, I couldn't make major with them in the Trubor. Doesn't really matter, since I really like True Blue.
  4. I recently got a Match Master in 9x19. I ordered it with the T2 comp instead of the T1 comp. It has a Dawson Precision Ice magwell, thumb rest, and stainless steel mainspring housing, a Sidewinder slide racker, and STI mag button. Total weight is 43.05 oz, slide weight is 10.00 oz. A Trubor 5.5" with a T1 comp, Dawson Precision Ice magwell, thumb rest, and aluminum mainspring housing, a Sidewinder slide racker, and STI mag button weighs 45.10 oz, slide weight is 11.7 oz. The pictures show how the slide racker is installed.
  5. I put the Dawson .180 tall front FO sights in my 5" and 6" Eagles and my Edge, and have been very pleased with them. I'm using the Dawson FO adjustable rear sights in the guns, too, but they are the same dimensions as the factory sights.
  6. Rain / Mud Out for Alpha Mike this Sunday. the Range Owner says too muddy for a match JF Anything else going on in the SA or CenTex area tomorrow?
  7. The Copperas Cove Pistol Club runs an action pistol match the 2nd Saturday of the month. Usually 5 or 6 stages, around 100 rounds. In addition to IDPA divisions, you can also shoot divisions that are like USPSA limited and open. Scoring is IDPA style, but without the rest of the IDPA rules. It's a fun match. http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/coppe...ub/message/2267
  8. I have the midsized Techwear on my Trojan, and it works really well for both IDPA and USPSA. Plus, the grips fit my hand well and look great - black grips on chrome gun with silver magwell.
  9. Does anybody know if Ramshot True Blue is temperature sensitive in 9x19 major loads? If so, directly or inversely? Thanks in advance!
  10. It looks like a Techwell. It's a very good magwell, and the grips are super, too. Techwell
  11. My experience with the ChargeMaster is mixed. When it is working, it works great. About half the time, though, it acts up while dispensing powder. It acts sort of like there's a clutch that is slipping; the motor runs but the trickler tube doesn't. The scale part has worked well. RCBS says they will warranty the ChargeMaster, but I'm still out the return shipping and a few weeks use. I also have a 750 scale that has been problematic. It drifts pretty dramatically. It finally drove me to getting the Uniquetek scale that is accurate to 0.02 grain. I've had it several months now and love it.
  12. Where is the hardcover on T2 of 08-04 supposed to start?
  13. +1 on the Uniqetek scale. Virtually no drift. Zeroed it when I first got it and have not had to zero since, in about 25 or so reloading sessions. Always within +/- 0.02 grains on the calibration weight.
  14. STI now lists it in 9x19 on their website. A sales guy at the factory confirmed it's available in 9x19, but will come with a T1 comp (same as 9x19 Trubor) instead of the T2 shown on the 38 Super.
  15. Are the Safariland 771s legal for IDPA?
  16. I recently chrono'ed some WWB 230 ball ammo I bought in 2007. STI Trojan (5" bbl), 950 ft. altitude, 70 degree day (low humidity) High: 860 Low: 787 Avg: 815 SD: 25 ES: 73 AvPF: 188 HiPF: 198 LoPF: 181
  17. As someone pointed out in another thread, VV publishes a major 9x19 load (the ONLY one, AFAIK). Page 48 of the 2008 book, 9mm Luger: 147 gr. Hornady HP/XTP, 3N38, 1.142 OAL, 4" BBL 1/10: 6.3 gr = 1171 fps (172 PF) 6.9 gr = 1207 fps (177 PF)
  18. Slide racker will not be a problem. Dawson Precision put a sidewinder on my Trubor, which has the same type of slide lightening cut as shown in the MatchMaster picture.
  19. Do the Arredondo and DP wedgies support the 9mm spacer OK? Or are you guys running your mags without spacers?
  20. I have a Loadmaster that I used for 9mm for a while. I had a lot of trouble with the priming system, and recommend that you get several of each part in that system: punch, trough, cover, slider, and lever. I also recommend you get the blast shield; I have had 3 primer detonations, each of which set off about 10-15 primers in the trough but none in the tray. The detonation makes the surfaces of the trough and cover very rough, which makes them unusable. I also mashed a lot of sliders. As noted above, you should get a factory crimp die, if you don't already have one. Some people suggest using a universal decapping die in station 1, with a sizer in station 2 to help hold the case steady while priming. I didn't find that setup to help much if any. No one mentioned a scale; you will need a good scale. If you are on a real tight budget, you might consider the Franklin electronic scale from Midway. It works reasonably well. Make sure you mount the press solidly to a very stable bench. You can get other good tips from the videos at www.loadmastervideos.com as well as the forum there. I ultimately got another press for 9mm, which is my main USPSA (open, major) and IDPA (ESP, minor) round. I still use the Loadmaster a lot, though. I have loaded several 1000 of 40 S&W and 45 ACP with virtually no primer problems at all. Lee uses the same shellplate for 9mm and 40 S&W; I suspect the 9mm priming problems all result from the much looser fit of the 9mm case in the shellplate. Good luck!
  21. Anybody have any tips for the best way to get rid of the slide lock tab?
  22. I'm using 5.8 gr Long Shot and 115 gr MG CMJ loaded at 1.145 OAL in my G34. Chrono'd at 135 PF at 95 degrees at 300 ft elevation. Bench rest at 25 yds produced 1.5 inch or smaller groups.

Both powders are dense enough to be good for fast progressive loading.
