  1. I agree. Perhaps Bud Pewtie will make a return appearance one of these years. The Swagger tie-in wasn't necessary, but certainly appreciated.
  2. Is it the rumored "I, Sniper"? Yep, that's the one. No spoilers yet, please!
  3. ....is a pretty good read so far. Fun fiction. Anyone else reading it?
  4. Caught it yesterday.....worth the price of admission, for sure.
  5. Thank you, Randy! I'm sure we all look forward to still seeing you at as many matches as possible!
  6. Back to the original question. I almost always wear a 5.11 vest in matches. On the rare occasion when I feel less like playing the game, or if I managed not to bring the vest (more like daily carry) to a local match, an untucked polo shirt over an IWB is the uniform of the day. Several folks locally have taken to rotating in a "regular carry" outfit every so often at local matches.
  7. +1 to that. I wear nike running shoes, unless the terrain is muddy or slippery, then hiking boots go on.
  8. Randy, Lea, Everyone, Many, many thanks and congratulations on an absophenomenallyfantastic match. I had a great time and I look forward to (and hope to be) seeing y'all again next year! Best wishes, Luke
  9. It's a balmy morning in Oxford, North Carolina and the 2009 Carolina Cup is off to a great start! Great stages, super ROs, and good friends from around the country here once again. If you're here, sound off!
  10. Always great! Consistent. Order after order. Thanks, guys!
  11. I'm curious how amused the Saleen team was when Hammond tore off the right side of their car with his Penis? Poor little Hammond felt terrible. I think it was a Noble actually, I'll check Whatever it was, I recall his immediate response was [exaperated and downtrodden] "I couldn't have hit anything more expensive...." or something like that.
  12. My personal favorites are the "drive across Africa (with substitute Stig)," and "caravan holiday." EDITED TO ADD: UBER Hottie Sabine Schmidt passing crotch rockets and Porches whilst piloting a transit van around the Nurburgring. How could I have forgotten that!?!
  13. Perhaps we should also start a "Top Gear" thread....great show. I saw the same episode recently and almost fell off the couch when he said that! +1!!
  14. To paraphrase the great Frank Glover: Rule Number 1: Shoot them near to far. Rule Number 2: Shoot them as you see them (slice the pie). Rule Number 3: Shoot them the way we tell you to shoot them. Rule Number 4: Rule Number 3 supercedes all other rules.
  15. I'm glad to see at least three Carolina guys are on the list. Looking forward to it - gonna be well worth the drive and price of admission, no doubt!
  16. +1 for the Nordic Guys First Class all the way...
  17. I, for one, vote to have that rifle spinner melted down as scap metal !!!!! I second that motion!
  18. G17, completely factory, except for Heinie NS. My everyday carry gun. Trained and competed pretty hard with it for two years, then made SSP Master with it at the 2008 Carolina Cup. From my perspective, that's what IDPA is all about and what cements it in its unique and important niche among the shooting sports. Of course, I'll now be shooting a 9mm STI in ESP / EX at nationals this year. Insert response to duplicity here. ..it is still a game, after all. Still carry the Glock, though. Many, many of my fellow shooters, even those with long histories of great, major success with Glocks are giving the M&P a long, hard look....and then buying whole new setups to support them. Something to consider if you are just starting with one platform or the other.
  19. I'd like to add my congratulations to the MDs, ROs, and all staff on a great match! Let's make it an annual thing. I really liked the one-day format. It made it pleasantly easy on us driving down from the Carolinas to get in, rest up, have a great full-day match, then rest well before heading back up. A great match weekend! Well done folks, y'all have every reason to be proud!
  20. Resistance is futile. See you soon, "lucas" So, the open Thursday slots were meant just for revo shooters? 1911onr - No Sir. As stated, I posted in the wrong section. I intended to specifically encourage revolver shooters. All are welcome. gb32 - Your passes have been issued - I'll trade you a lifetime pass for a bottle of that magical Peach elixer. A reevolver is one who has evolved before and is doing so again. Best Regards, Craig
  21. FB3G Trooper Class (the only match in which I have shot trooper class so far) is set up in such a way that you need to be able to carry all your gear from stage to stage in one trip, without resupply during the match, but do not have to carry all said gear while actually shooting the stage. Once you reach the stage, you may ground all your gear and then carry only that which you need while actually shooting the stage. I wore my normal 3G belt, changing out belt mounted accs for the stage in question, and (between stages) carried all my equipment, ammo, both long guns, a spare handgun, etc. with relative ease using an Eberlestock Phantom pack with side scabbard and two external molle pouches. Once it is on your back, it's a breeze to walk around with. Lifting and mounting it on your back gets easier and easier with each subsequent stage completed and ammo fired.......hope you get the high round count stages first! I called Eberlestock to order one morning leading up to the FB3G (he's in Idaho, remember time zones!) and Mr. Eberlestock (Glen Eberle) answered the phone himself. We discussed what model would be best for my needs, and the order was placed 25 minutes later.. Awesome guy with great experiences and history. Check out eberlestock.com. I live out of and with a backpack as a constant companion 4-5 months a year, in pretty remote places (http://www.nationalgeographic.com/field/explorers/luke-dollar.html). In nearly 15 years of using packs professionally, the Eberlestocks are as good if not better than any I've ever encountered for field use. Starting this year, the Eberlestock Phantom (in any of many forms of accessorization) will be my primary pack both on the 3G range and in the field. Give these products a long, serious look.
  22. Mag-Cinch, the new Blackhawk, just go beta, get a 40/45 rounder, etc., etc., etc.?? What's a fella to do? Lots to choose from.... I'm running a mag-cinch right now, but I have to stay on top of strap tension and making sure the mags remain staggered properly. Is there a better mousetrap? School me on this one (and save me several hundred dollars and time in trial-and-error), oh mighty and wise 3G Jedis.......
