  1. Had been looking at options and contacted Brian (bmiller) on Friday to ask what he had for a mil-spec with a Hahn mag block. He got back to be right away noting he could print on up. Sent payment and had it on Monday! Wow! What a nice fit and it provides the perfect coverage on the Hahn mag block. Also his service and turn-around is second to none! For anyone needing a magwell for this setup or any other model he supports give him a shout. You will not be disappointed.
  2. I just got a magwell in from Brian. Top shelf work!!! I would recommend his products to all and will buy more as I get through a couple more builds.
  3. Thought about that one but the Strike Industries safety is not supposed to be compatible with Hiperfire triggers. So what is the story there?
  4. I know this has been a common topic of discussion with more than a couple variables but would like to know what is out there for a light trigger with a good reset. My colt pattern build is using a JP Bolt and the Strike Industries Switch safety. Currently, I've got a POF 3.5 lb (runs at 3.75 lb) flat trigger in it due to having it on the bench at the time. While it runs great, the trigger is too heavy. What say you for options?? Need to find something a significantly lighter. I want to get this thing sorted and get some trigger time before hitting some local matches. Thanks in advance for your time.
  5. Have one in mine and runs fine. Decent trigger with around about 3.75 lb break and OK reset. Using it until I can find something that is lighter. My PCC is my own build using a JP bolt so cannot tell you how it will run in yours.
  6. Just got a shipping confirmation of the FSS Kit from Apex today. With a little luck it will be here by Friday and in the 45FS (test vehicle) by that evening and I'll shooting it on Saturday. Can't wait. If it is what I hope it to be, 3 more for the other M&P's will be ordered on Monday!
  7. Got one coming and I'm going to drop it in a 45FS that has a total crap trigger. Assuming it is as advertised and I like it one will be on order for my 40 Pro.
  8. has not set their status

  9. Try DS Arms. I have not checked their prices recently but you should be able to get what you are looking for there.
  10. Been down that road too... Last year a friend borrowed the Dmax to haul his car out east and did not listen to me when I told him the fuel gauge drops like a rock from 1/4 on down. Running a diesel out of fuel is a BIG NO-NO. Having to prime, bleed and redo this multiple times to get the air out of the system is a shity job. Sometimes you still get an air lock after all that and you are sitting there once more wondering why is your turn in the barrel.
  11. yeah I know what you are talkin about.... My labs love to terrorize the local squirrel population. So much for having a pair of bird dogs!
  12. Yep, being stranded sucks big time! On Saturday my Duramax puked a belt when an idler pulley froze up right in the middle of Detroit in a not so nice place. I would have rather been in the middle of frickin nowhere TX than on that street. Lucky for me (and my friend) we were carrying (legally of course), had a some extra mags and low and behold there happened to be an open repair shop just up the street. This guy was from Baghdad and one of the most creative repair wizards I've ever met. He was able to salvage a pulley from a pile of parts and get me back on the road in less than an hour. Best $70 I ever spent on a truck repair and I thanked him kindly for his prompt and excellent service which got me out of that god forsaken ciity and back on somewhat safe I75. I keep wondering if that mechanic feels at home and safe in wonderful De-Toilet err I mean Detroit. Either way, after comming out of Irag I'll bet he does not even flinch when he hears a gunshot and just keeps wrenching away!
  13. I'm lucky... I work out of a home office and my two yellow labs are always with me! Sometimes they can be a pain in the ass when I'm in meetings and they want out or food or playtime etc.... but they sure do make nice company throughout my day.
  14. That is what I found out last night as well. Just wonder if there are any other differences between that an a regular M2. $250 or so less seems to be a big drop for just a stock.
  15. It is a M2 Field. I believe it shold have the ComforTech
  16. Just found a new M2 w/o the ComforTech stock. I though all new M2s had this stock. Anyone know what gives on this?? Are there any other differences or could this be a budget M2??
  17. There is only ONE good choice here - that is a Beretta 391 20 ga. Have the shotgun fit to her and put a KICK-EEZ pad on it. Use or load light loads the recoil is not significant. Add to that the lower cost of ammo for a 20ga over 28s and 410s and you have a winner! People think the smaller guages kick less. WRONG. Recoil is based upon the weight of the gun vs what the shot charge weight is and the pressure curve generated by the powder charge. 7/8" or 1oz of lead gives basically the same push to the shoulder no matter if is fired in a 410, 28 20 etc... The other factor is gas guns kick A BUNCH less than a O/O or a S/S. Also, don't waste your time or money with a 391 youth model. I bought one for my 8 yesr old son and he only used it for a year before going to a standard 28" gun with the stock fit to him. The 28" barrel will give her a longer and smoother sighting plane. The weight of a 20Ga 391 is very low and easy for kids to handle. Not to mention when she needs a longer stock as she grows all you need to do is add some spacers. Room to grow here! Don't - I repeat DON'T go with a Remington. They are a HEAVY, CLUNKY, POS compared to a Berreta. Not to mention they won't hold up over the years. 391 gas guns rule when it comes to clays!
  18. Did not see this match mentioned so I thought I'd toss a note out.... Detroit Sportsman's Congress (DSC) is hosting their monthly 3 gun match this Sunday. Here is the email text from Dave Ray from the club: Our next 3 Gun Match will be this Sunday. Signup will begin at 8AM with the match beginning at 9:30. There will be 3 Handgun stages (~80 rounds), 2 Shotgun stages (~40 rounds, no slugs), and 2 Rifle stages (~80 rounds). Volunteers are needed to assist with setup on Saturday starting at 9:30 and lunch will be provided to the setup crew. I will also be at the range Friday ~6:00 doing some setup work. Please let me know if you are able to help. The weather is looking good for Sunday so bring the sunblock (I know, I said that last time: For those that might need directions to the club, their web page is: www.d-s-c.org/IPSC
  19. So what happened to the USPSA 3 gun matches at Livingston GC??
  20. Can you post the link to the website? I'd like to register online if that is still an option.
  21. Played with one the other day. Neat shotgun but it will never replace the 1100 or 11/87 for 3 gun work
  22. forget all the liquid crap... Any of you ever replaced grips on a dirt bike? We use a small nozzle on the air hose. Stick it into the edge of the cover hit the air and you will notice the foam expands just enough to twist and push it over the tube. Try it you'll like it...
  23. If anyone has been around long enough to remember the comp that McDonald used to build, Doug Jones is similar but more effective. Give him a call you will be happy you did.
