  1. Another nice feature is the bottom of the circle at the hash mark location is the right point of aim for bore offset at close range.
  2. Exactly... a perfect application of the 510c.
  3. Understand the difference and agree. My context was a sight for the PCC game even though I have one on a 5.56 which makes a great truck gun. For a battle rifle optic I've gone another direction entirely.
  4. I have 3 of the 510c sights, two on PCC's and one on an AR 5.56 "pistol". My son also has 3 of these sights. All 6 are rock solid and as noted above, they are hard to beat for size , glass clarity, weight and cost. Right now I would not use anything else. I'm a big fan of Vortex and have a couple of Venom's and a couple of their 30mm rifle scopes but the AMG UH-1 is too big & heavy for my needs and looking through the glass it is very grainy whereas the 510 is crisp. Just my 2C.
  5. I don''t mind the std SCS but was just thinking of trying something different over the winter.... getting bored already.
  6. Anyone ever tried to short stroke a regular JP 9mm SCS? I've got one of the 4 weight versions laying around and was thinking of putting a spacer behind it. Thoughts and experiences?
  7. would be interested in the length of the spacer used...
  8. Anyone have a Rosco Bloodline 14.5" barrel? If so wondering about your satisfaction with accuracy...
  9. If you decide on making some holsters, I'll take one as well. Let me know.
  10. You are right! Shot it tonight and it is awesome. Wide FOV, crisp and clear. The circle dot is fast with precision in the dot when needed. Nice bore offset at 10yds and under with the bottom of the circle / hash mark spot on. The next PCC will also have one!
  11. Just put the 510c (Red) on the PCC. Should have done this from the get-go when I built it 5 months back. I highly recommend this Optic.
  12. Yeah, there were two there about 4 hours ago but I decided this morning to try a new optic ?
  13. Here you go... http://www.cesar-shop.com/product/safety-set-rightleft-shadow2-1429 I ordered a Shadow 2 wide left safey set for my TSO yesterday and it shipped today.
  14. Understand about pushing the envelope... I took crack at the data with some reading and input. Thinking about backing it down to 1400+ as you are noting enough gas to work the comp and anything more is not really needed.
  15. The Armscorp 95 gr are also .450 OAL with a little variation about the same as the PDs.
  16. As for recoil it is sharp compared to 115s and up but pretty much straight back. I kind of liken it to running a open gun vs limited - no roll just a fast poke to the rear and as noted above pretty minimal dot bounce.
  17. I'm using Armscorp 95 gr 380 bullets as I can get them at a decent deal but they are short!! OAL is 1.085 get enough enough engagement with the case. Might try the PD bullets noted above. In the AR, I'm using a JP Bolt and their Gen2 SCS with 3 tungsten weights. Runs flawlessly but case ejection is pretty stout making me think I could add another tungsten weight or increase the spring rate.
  18. The load I've been trying is 7.2 grains of 3N37. From a 16", getting an average of 1540 fps with a SD of 9. It is accurate at 50 yds and the gun runs flat with mininal dot bounce.
  19. Anyone trying light bullets at high velocity? I put some 95 gr 380 bullets over 3N37 found an accurate load that works the comp. and wondreing if anyone else has played with this combination.
  20. Hence my reason for recommending the Vortex Riser's. Venom or Razor, either model puts the dot at a great co-witness height.
  21. I understand your desire but before you get too caught up in the BUIS thing you should consider what the purpose of the PCC is. If it is primarily a competitive piece then I would not bother with any irons at all as they will just add weight and clutter to the carbine. Also given the fact that quality red dots (Vortex being one) are rock solid and not prone to failure, I would not worry at all about backup sights for competition. However, if the PCC is to double as perhaps a home defensive arm then a case can be made for BUIS but then again in low light situations you may be better served with a good green laser (Crimson Trace CR-206 comes to mind) that also is legal and makes a nice add to your PCC for USPSA work.
  22. Get the Vortex Riser and be done with it. Height from that riser is spot on. If you are not running it co-witness with irons then put the dot as far back on the receiver as you can and when you look through the window of the Razor you won't be cluttered up with any of the sight housing and all you will see for the most part is the dot. I've played around with the optic position and this is the way to go for what my 2C is worth... Find one here. There are plenty of sources for the Vortex Riser but this is a fair price and $0 shipping... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vortex-Razor-Red-Dot-Riser-Mount-with-Quick-Release-Lever-MT-5108/311991679081?epid=2255553571&hash=item48a4273869:g:xXMAAOSwmudaFyhZ BTW... My Vortex Riser (for the Venom) is made by Samson and the quality is first rate. The Riser for the Razor appears to be made by American Defense Manufacturing (ADM) and they make an excellent mount (have 4 of their QD's for AR's and Bolties) and will keep buying their products.
  23. No experience with the others but I have the Hahn dedicated mag block and it runs 100% so that would be my recommendation.
