  1. Match booklet is posted at www.texassouthsection.com Should be all the info you need
  2. I will try to answer your questions You dont have to show up on saturday but feel free to do so if you want. A random Prize drawing is usually held Saturday afternoon We will start on Sunday about 0800 I would show uo at 0730 to make sure I was ready to go, there will be no chrono bring your shooting gear a chair maybe some sunscreen maybe a rainsuit depending on forecast there will be food and drinks for sale at the range
  3. What is the consensus on the Leupold VX-R's I'm considereing a 4-12 for my hunting rifle I checked one out a Bass Pro Shop looked pretty good to me. I have always had good luck with Leupold scopes but, a buddy of mine did not have good luck with one he bought any other opinions?
  4. I want to load for my AR-15 should I use Full length resizing or small base dies? Whats the difference?
  5. I'm looking for a sling like the ones (early 80's) that used to come on Remington 700BDL's. Any ideas?
  6. The shirt order has been submitted the match is close to capacity with a waitlist to be established in the near future
  7. If you want a SCC 2013 shirt have your app and or money to me by 040113. The shirts are going to be very nice Royal blue with gold panels, high tech material. We are standing at 180 shooters, the match always comes close to maximum capacity or sells out.
  8. Up to 140+ entries and still getting a few entries daily
  9. I agree big is better. Don't fall victim of ultra high security safes, the truth is a $99 safe from walmart will defeat 99% of the burglars that enter your home. Bolt it down and you should be good to go
  10. Wow i don't wear glasses while reloading, I do now
  11. The range layout pretty much limits us to 8 stages. The fact is the match is frowned upon by the range administration, even though we pay for use of the range.
  12. Close to 100 entries and I am gettiing entry forms every day. The shirts will be nice as usual, "techwear/under armor" type material.
  13. My 9 year old daughter shoots minor! just kidding couldn't resist the dig, if I were to chrono my loads I might find that I was shooting minor. I too just enjoy shooting, mostly .45acp single stack with 200 grain bullets. The book says they are najor but I havent chronoed them and don't care if they are major or not. They are accurate, relaible and pleasant to shoot
  14. From Rob's post: John Dixon's Para framed hi cap was a little ahead of this I think. Someone oughta ask him. Those frames were kinda crappy at the time and no one else wanted one, but they did improve them dramatically very soon after. They had a second generation model that was much thinner and better recieved. I'm thinking Dixon's was a .45 around 1985-86. Not real sure. My post I watched John Dixon shoot the copper berylllium framed Para in the 1986 ( I think) Texas Challenge near Austin Texas. It was in .45acp and he had received the frame about a week before the match. He slapped it together and probably beat everybody there. He dominated our area back then although Chip McCormick would occasionally show up at that match and a guy named Jeff ? would give him a run for his money. Not long after that guys were building .38 supers on the Para frames and having magazines handmade at $125 a copy in 1987-1988 money.

    M&P mags

Does anybody know if anyone has them in stock? 17 round 9mm I heard they are selling for $90 at the local gun shows
  16. We already have 22 entries, I'm thinking the match will be at capacity again. great facility good prize table and a quality match at a reasonable price
  17. one other trick I use. Fire one shot at a fairly close range (50 yards) I use a large piece of paper with a paster in the center. Then while holding the same point of aim have someone adjust your scope to the point of impact. You are now boresighted. I use a 100 yard zero, I have a Leupold Mk IV with turrets I adjust for elevation at farther ranges

    Max OAL

Does anyone know the maximum oal that a cartridge can be loaded too and still work in a Remington 700 BDL short action rifle?
  19. Called Dillon found my answer
  20. Would it be possible to take the sizing die and bullet seating die out of my 1050 currently setup for .45acp replace them with a sizing die and bullet seating die for my 260 and load them on my 1050? Then use it as a single stage press, size all brass, decap, clean and hand prime the cases, measure each charge then use bullet seating die?
  21. on the 3 gun nation What is the purpose of the "stage rifle" then hit the start button? Do shots with the stage gun whatever it maybe count?
  22. I thought it was kind of funny Tyler Perry action hero? But he pulled it off well,
  23. Whenever I try to watch a posted video from BE forums I get great audio but only a white screen. Any thoughts? Youtube works on this computer if I go straight tp Youtube. Kinda frustrating.I may have solved my problem I clicked the youtube icon and watched several videos
  24. Now if you give us velocities out of your rifle and what caliber and bullet you are shooting, we can tell you your theoretical drops out for a long ways. Thanks for the info I was just wondering if there was a general rule to follow. I always sight my rifle with the ammo to be used and am familiar with the theoretical holdovers for my load
