  1. Just wondering what everybody’s thoughts are re: the best electronic in-ear hearing protection is. Also, any opinions on comfort would be appreciated.
  2. My shadow 2 has this “mark” too
  3. I mean height and I guess max width, not as much the FO diameter. Something that will work with the stock rear.
  4. Does anyone know the appropriate size for fiber optic front sight for stock Tac Sport rear sight?
  5. Saw that thread...but there were a lot of crazy suggestions. I was thinking something big, easy to open, light to carry, easy to handle for the range. I would have a different, more heavy duty bag for actual transport and storage. 2 bags for 2 purposes. Just wondering. That zombie bag looks along the lines of what J was thinking...minus the goofy graphics.
  6. Is there a case that is the best case to carry the PCC around actually during the match in terms of size and ease of use?
  7. Thanks for the advice, everyone. Can’t seem to find the magpul mags, though so if anyone has any leads, I would appreciate it. Also, is an extension really necessary? Seeing as how there is a 32 round max, I feel like a regular 33 rounder should be fine for the vast majority of stages and would eliminate the frustration of getting these extensions working? Is there a “best extension”? Seems like most people favor the MBX? I hate finicky mags and I think this will be a source of frustration for me, haha
  8. I’m new to this, trying to figure out what mags and extensions to buy. Also plan to add the Taccom magwell. Does anyone have any suggestions about which mags to buy (Glock vs ETS vs other), how many and what mag extensions? My main goal with the extensions is minimal hassle, minimal “fitting”. Thanks!
  9. Yeah, me too!
  10. Sorta except on a 1911 you take the recoil spring out first, then remove the slide whereas the Shadow 2 you remove the slide first, then take out the guts, right?
  11. What about CZ Custom model 96214 though? Technically, it is not a model from CZ USA as a brand, right? It would be considered a modified shadow 2 from CZ custom which has a separate SKU 96214 which would then be legal because it is a shadow 2 with mods that is just given a name and number by an aftermarket company? In reality, are accu2 model 96214 and 91763 exactly the same? Why can’t we just tell the officials that we have a shadow 2 and had the mods done separately and it is not a 96214 or 91763? There is really no easy way to track that unless they call CZ custom or CZ USA with the serial numbers which would be a huge time consuming PIA that they probably wouldn’t bother with unless you actually won a major match?
  12. Mine is pretty tight, seems like it needs to be rotated not quite all the way counter clockwise. Then I have to pull pretty hard to get it to pop out. Does anyone have any specific tricks to make it easier?
  13. Or if you really want it you could shoot it in L10 until it is legalized
  14. I’m still new to the shadows too, but it seems to me like you have to press the trigger in farther to get the hammer to go fully down. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s what it seems like to me. Something to try if you haven’t already.
  15. Ok so I just got things sorted out today, hopefully it helps someone some day even though they’ve discontinued the STI Trojan. The CompTac STI Trojan holster is the closest fit. Still tight on the large mag release button (Dawson Precision CRP), but it will work. The standard 1911 holster doesn’t fit nearly as well, but is probably passable in a pinch. I had to order the CompTac straight from them because nobody had them in stock anywhere. Probably took a couple weeks or so. They threw in a packet of Smarties candy, which made my kids happy, haha.
  16. So...was my new Trojan .45 was made in TX of American parts? I just bought it from Dawson Precision. Would save me from buying a Cabot, haha
  17. So how can we tell if our 1911s and 2011s are US manufactured or not?
  18. I think that both are important and realize that different things are important to different people. I think this is especially true for a brand that markets itself as “handmade in Texas”. Most of us who do find where the pistol is made important, find that a bit misleading. It obviously doesn’t matter to most people, else the business would not survive. I like an American 1911 in the same way as I like a Swiss Rolex or a German Porsche, or a Japanese sushi knife. There is something special in my mind about an item made in the place where it originated, with maybe an inaccurate belief that the people in that place know that item best, take pride in their accomplishment, and make these items with special attention because it is their baby.
  19. I just bought a Trojan .45 and it’s not marked Korea anywhere (phew!)
  20. Update... I bought a CompTac International 1911 5” Holster.. but it doesn’t fit the Dawson CRP I think because it contacts the mag release button, which is quite large. I also ordered a CompTac International holster straight from CompTac, model STI Trojan 5.0. Still might contact the mag release button though. I am still interested in the Redhill Tactical holster, but don’t know exactly which model to order. I would imagine I would need the 1911 government 5” and NOT the STI DVC Classic because the trigger guard is round, not squared like the DVC Classic. Does anyone have any advice? I’d like to minimize filling my drawer full of useless holsters even more, haha. It may come down to taking a dremel tool to the back side of the CompTac to relieve the area next to the mag release. https://redhilltactical.com/products/1911compholster
  21. Thanks, guys. Which model should I choose? As in 1911 government 5”? STI DVC Classic? https://redhilltactical.com/products/1911compholster anyone else have any other suggestions?
