  1. You should send an email of this question to Double Alpha directly from their website. You can also call them and ask. They are usually very helpful with these types of questions.
  2. I don’t know if it would work with the race master or not because I’m not familiar with that model, but for the Alpha X there is an extended ball joint that will bring the gun out a little farther. https://www.doublealpha.biz/us/alpha-x-extended-ball-joint-rod
  3. All you have to do is not be good at practical shooting and then your name shows up nowhere in a google search hahaha
  4. Contact Dan Heitzenrater at D2 Customs in Punxsutawney PA. He can make you a new slide with a decent turnaround and at a fair price.
  5. I have 3 guns with 2 popples and 2 ports in 9 major….and I’d go 3 port…
  6. Great. Thanks a lot. You just blew up the internet.
  7. I opened this thread thinking, oh geez….what is he getting himself into now…..
  8. I use the aggressive and I find them to be too abrasive. They cut up my hands, then I can’t practice as much as I’d like. If I had to do over again, I’d get the standard.
  9. I’d bet that the vast majority of people who buy these optics shoots the gun a few times a year so it’s not an issue. Most people are not like us.
  10. I gave it a fair shot. I really tried to make it work. I tried a brand new inner belt, a stiffer inner belt, putting the holster and pouches all kind of different ways and it still rotated too much for me. Not only the holster, but also the mag pouches. Maybe I was expecting less movement in all directions and when I didn’t get it, I was disappointed. Rolling it up to put it in a bag was also not a big deal for me, because over years and years of doing this sport, I’ve figured out how to transport the belt. A holster or hanger that detaches off the belt and reattaches easily and in a repeatable way is a bigger improvement to the rig than the rollable belt in my opinion. I’m glad it worked out for other people.
  11. As somebody who is currently at a low spot in his shooting, what I can say is that people are rarely operating at their peak performance, and that there is a significant difference in performance when you are practiced/trained vs if you enjoyed the summer doing other things like going to the beach and spending time with your family. The top pros make their living doing this, it’s why they always perform when it matters. Their lives revolve around it. It’s like being amazed that Hollywood movie stars are always in shape and buff. It’s because that’s their job and how they put food on the table.
  12. I didn’t like it. Went back to a traditional belt. It is really stiff in 2 axes, and really floppy in rotation. A traditional belt is kind of stiff in all directions. To me, it was better to have the guns and mags more steady and not moving around and rotating around the links.
  13. Just call him and talk to him. You would have to tell him exactly what you want for him to come up with a price anyway. Whatever that price is, it will be great. He does not overcharge.
  14. I haven’t tried it, but I’ve heard you need to use the anti splatter gel and not the spray somehow (I don’t know, just what I’ve been told by people who swear by it)
  15. Black nitride is a good option too.
  16. As good as it should. Every finish will wear on Kydex. Blue and Cerakote wear the fastest. PVD and hard chrome needs to eventually be refinished too, just not as often.
  17. Well, my A-01 was a true custom because I had them make it exactly to my spec, including slide and frame cuts, but it also cost a lot more than $2k. It also took as long to get as an open gun. You can ask them to do literally whatever you want with it, and they will do it if it is physically/mechanically possible. Mine was finished in PVD when I got it from them. And I told them who to send it to for the PVD. Finish options were NP3, Hard Chrome or PVD. Cost the same to finish it as my open guns.
  18. Standard finish on those is just blued. If you want something more durable, you’re going to have to get it PVD coated or hard chromed.
  19. The used/older 2022 will also make a great backup gun when you decide to buy a new one.
