  1. I used a Dillon Primer tube also, worked out great. I was amazed at how far off some of the spring weights were. I had good luck with the ISMI springs, as each one was just about at it's marked weight as the coils were just about to touch one another.
  2. JT- Mind posting a pic of your modified track? Any problems with the ram not retracting fast enough?
  3. I own two, one for my small primer machine, and one for my large. On my .45 set up, I love it. It increases the load rate a ton by not having to take my right hand off the handle. On the other machine, 38 special and 38 Super (taller cases) tend to tip out like JT was saying and end up getting nicked by the resizing die. It seems to have its good days and its bad days, almost like the primer feed bar. All in all, a good add on, but if I had it to do again, I'd buy two 650s with casefeeders.
  4. 4.7 gr WST doesn't make a 170 pf with a 200 gr swc out of my 5" Wilson. 4.8 barely made major, but who knows, my barrel might be a little played out.
  5. 231 is my go-to powder for all around use.
  6. Just bought 10k because they became available and thought I'd take the chance. I'm loading 38 Super with Wolff SRP and my Millenium Custom loves them. I've probably ran 1500 through the gun and had zero failures. However, my stock Trubor had 4 or 5 hits that didn't go bang in only 30 rounds. I'll swap the mainspring out and try again. I'd definitely buy them again, especially if nothing else becomes available. Plus I can pick out my brass from a mile away with the Pink primer....
  7. I believe if there was a problem, they would have chronoed through the competitor's gun. I was a little curious as to how close my PF was to the chrono at home...
  8. Yea, I thought that was unusual. They also chronoed through range guns.
  9. Great weather and the match ran quick and smooth. There was some very technical shooting, minimal hosing. I must have broke the perf on at least 4 no-shoots...
  10. I don't have the actual dimension, but I believe it is a Gov. model slight slightly cut down, and slightly longer than a commander slide. Makes finding a recoil spring a challenge.
  11. Supercomp is pretty easy to spot, but I run into trouble with 38 Super RL (Rim-less) and a few other headstamps that have no rim. When I have a mixed bunch, from a club match I sort them out by putting them into my 38 Super case gauge backwards. If they have no rim they fall right into the gauge. Once they're sorted once it's not too bad.
  12. I did end up building a spring tester, and found that the cut springs measured out very close to their specified weight just as they approached coil bind. At the slide-back mark on my tester, it was usually within 1/2 a pound off of the uncut weight, and about a pound difference at the slide forward mark. You guys weren't kidding about how the springs may not be their marked rate, half of them were off by 2.5- 3 lbs.
  13. I've had great luck with both the Zeros and the Montana Golds. My usual preference is Zero out of habit, but since they are on 4 week backorder, I plan on stocking up on MG 124 JHPs.
  14. Very Cool. Would love to see how a FMJ breaks down.
  15. dude you cut half the spring???? I'll just have to have you fix me up when I come see you in November. No signs of battering, but I'm on the fence about how I feel the gun tracks.
  16. Sick means good right... Good... very good. Nice ride.
  17. That comp is absolutely sick.
  18. 6" sightracker...i just hope it becomes legal soon 6" sight tracker isn't legal?
  19. OK, got it fitted, but it cost me 6.5 coils off of an ISMI 9 lb spring. Sound excessive? The gun is one of Derek's shortys.
  20. I'll tinker this morning and let you know how it goes... Thanks HSmith.
  21. Agreed. So what's the proper method to fit a spring to the gun?... Pull off the top end and go by trial and error? I'm very interested in the matter, as this has been a sore subject for a while...
  22. My first match was an all classifier match, and I made C in L10. The following year, at the same classifer match I made B in Limited. 3rd year in, I'm less than 2% from A in Open and plan on planting myself here until I make M. I definitely prescribe to the plan of pick one gun and stick with it.
  23. I run one in my Open gun. I feel it dampens the recoil and I never seem to find any 'debris' floating around the frame... Until I find otherwise I'll keep it.
  24. My issue is spring binding. I'm running an MC 38 Super, and the only spring I can get in there without binding it a Wolf 8# Variable spring. Any ISMI binds up at slide lock, as does a Wolf 9 or 10#. I'd like to bump up to a 9 lb or even a 10, but hate the idea of clipping coils....
  25. Second classifier I ever shot was melody line, and I managed a 53.2 in L10. Two years later I earned 78.5% in Open. Still scared of all that black paint...
