I prefer the weekday slots and would definitely be up for it, especially if it meant not having to burn rubber to the post office to get my match app in time.
3 of is are actually using Winchester AutoComp....I was using 3n38 byt it was hard to get and costs more. I have had great luck with AutoComp and will be sticking with it. At Area 6 shots from my sons gun were 1408, 1409, and 1407. Can't really get more consistent than that. It is also very clean for me at ~172pf.
What charge/ bullet head?
Seemed to put a lot of heat into the comp very quickly, but it shoots relatively flat and is a nice alternative to VV powders. I also like that it's dense enough that 8.0 gr isn't at the top of the case mouth. Anyone know how temperature sensitive it is?
Just chronoed my 38 Super Autocomp loads.
Montana Gold 121 gr IFP, 8.0 gr Autocomp, CCI SPP, 1414 fps, 171 PF.
Zero 125 gr JHP, 7.8 gr Autocomp, CCI SPP, 1353 fps, 169 PF.
Barrel is a shuemann 3 port hybrid with a M2i six chamber comp.
Oh god yes. With my 38 supers, I had a whole bunch of stretched out primer pockets, only with nickel plated casings. I found that after loading a couple hundred rounds of nickel cases, if I put them in the tumbler for a few minutes (less than 5) any loose primers would fall out and I wouldn't have to worry about having a loose primer ruin a match for me. For what it's worth...
Did a quick search and came up empty. I'm looking to mount my new 650 tonight, and have plans to add a kiss bullet feeder within the year. It's going to be mounted to the right of my 550, and I want to get it close, but still have room for the bullet feeder when I have the money. Anyone know how far the kiss mounts off the side of the 650? Thanks.
Had a revelation tonight... After crushing another valuable 38 Super case, I noticed that the obvious cause of the problem was the ridge between the shellplate and the aluminum adapter that comes with the dillon casefeeder adapter. I had tried blending the seam between the two before with a dremel and sandpaper, and it helped, but not enough. So I figured I'd try another approach and shim the aluminum adapter from underneath to try and get them to line up better. I cut a playing card up into a few small rectangles, and added them under the adapter until the seam was just about even. I loaded another 300-400 rounds without a glitch, when previously I had been nicking the case mouths every couple dozen rounds. I was so pleased with myself that I had to post!
