  1. Well to make it really simple you could just say magazines can't be loaded with more than 30. Or say that mags can't hold more than 33 rounds. Based on your answers I can't tell if I show up with a Pmag, which easily holds 31, if I'm shooting Open, or if I'm good as long as I only load 30. Putting a cap at 30 rounds when the most popular magazines can actually hold 31 is a recipe for trouble.
  2. Last time I stayed at the Riviera they did accept ammo shipments but they charged me like $45.00 for the privledge of doing so.
  3. Interesting. I think there's a local guy who built a box. I'll have to wait till the October match to find out at the earliest. The September match got cancelled.
  4. DVD is available for pre-order as of Sept 2. Not sure if they are going to continue the series. According to IMDB it had a budget of 15M and only made 5. Hopefully the DVD sales will add to that, and I would expect they would. That said, www.atlasshruggedpart2.com says Part 2 is going to be released in Fall 2012. We'll see. I'm still waiting on Supertroopers 2.
  5. Will the Arredondo plus three fit? I was going to shoot a match with my duty gun. Changed my mind at the last minute but I carry +3s on all my spare mags. This would be on a Glock 19
  6. Yep I took the Xrail off the Open table. Already thanked Mark since he was there, and started looking for an FN to put it on.
  7. last MG nats i attended, when i asked this question to some of the RO's, they told me it was to avoid a conflict of interest, them scoring you and you maybe being in the same class/division as them. funny, it seems to work just fine everywhere else. Robert: there's no wait list, you can still get in. The part about there being no wait list is true. The rest not so much. This was the BS rumor that I was trying to not let clutter up the thread. It is not to avoid a conflict of interest. There is no way we believe our RO's would be any less than completely honest even if they shot the match. The short answer is logistics and lack of interest. Getting the range set up and 100% correct in time to let all the RO's shoot all the stages in exactly the same configuration the competitors requires at least an extra day, if not two of range time. A few years back, when the RO's were shooting before the match, and it hasn't been that long ago that they did, there were only a few of them that did. Most just figured it wasn't worth the hassle to haul all three guns out for a day of shooting, which normally didn't count because they didn't have time to finish the stages, or something got changed and there was no time for a reshoot. The conflict of interest thing is absolute horse crap.
  8. Talked to Linda yesterday. She is in the process of entering each competitor into the Self Squadding Database by hand. Needless to say, at least for those that have been in KY at Rockcastle for the last couple days, she's been a bit busy. She does have the registration file and it will be available soon.
  9. The RO's don't shoot the match at all. (for a variety of reasons, none as nefarious as most people think, PM me if you're really interested) Not sure if they still need RO's or not. They normally use USPSA Nationals RO's for the matches.
  10. I'm taking one from some dude named Kort Mueller? Apparently he's been a pro shooter since 1924 or something. Either way I figure he can show me how to weakhand load a muzzle loader.
  11. Just looking at the poster ahead of me and thinking I should change my name to shootersleepy. F'in time change
  12. Not a fan of Micheal but that had nothing to do with his skills as a shotgunner. Hitting flying clays is a very different skill set from shooting slugs at a stationary target. That was basically a rifle challenge with really big bullets. I'd be willing to bet he swapped back to focusing on the target and wasn't even looking at the sights. Just like I swap back to looking at the sights when I try (in vain) to hit a damn flying clay.
  13. Depends... If you are used to a moderately heavy trigger with a lot of takeup and are given a light trigger with no takeup, you're likely have the gun go off when you are not suspecting it. IOW, what's enough pressure on a stock gun to prep the trigger will fire a competition trigger. Agreed that this was not the guy's only issue - trying to shoot cross eye dominant the way he was really killed him, but that was not a Glock he was shooting, it was a race gun and that's a totally different beast or it would not cost as much as it does. And does anyone besides me think it's odd that they didn't mention what kind of a gun that really was? You mean like Cliff being used to the a light trigger with no takeup? The dude shoots a wheelgun. It's all takeup and even the competition triggers aren't exactly light. Drew choked and was shanking shots. Just because he's a pistol instructor doesn't mean he can shoot one and certainly not on the level of a USPSA National Champion. Did you see the shot groups on the wood when he was done? He chewed more wood off the frame of that thing than Athena did with the Thompson last season. I was really worried it was going to fall apart in the middle of Cliff's run. And they were almost all low right, exactly where a trigger jerker shooting left handed goes.
  14. If that pin fit's the standard Bo-Mar, I'd be up for buying a couple as well. I've got a couple of busted Bo-Mars sitting around that I haven't got around to fixing.
  15. Just got an email that Glockmeister has them in stock.
  16. Not a sales guy for Cerakote but I do have a bit of familiarity with it. From what I understand it's a ceramic based finish with high wear resistance and corrosion protection. I've got some stuff done in Cerakote, an SBR AR and I just got a bunch of small parts refinished by Springer Precision. They just came in this week so I haven't had a chance to beat them up too bad but they look really good. There are a couple different versions of Cerakote as well, Air Cure and Oven Cure. The air cure is softer, but can be applied to anything, and comes in a bunch of colors. The Oven Cure is a bit more limited in colors and application but it seems to be a pretty darn good finish. Better than a lot of the other spray on polymer finishes by a long shot. None of these finishes are going to be as hard as Hard Chrome or Ion Bond but you also have the option of getting it done in some pretty cool colors. I'm sure I'll be sending Scott a lot more parts and guns this winter.
  17. 23-26 May 2012 Here is the Web Program that will be on-line this week, it will have all the information people will need to compete in the Championship in 2012. NRA Pistol Dept. @nrabianchicup Any changes from last year? Other than the dates? BTW, there are some typos in the fees sections, B-7. You've still got 2011 listed for most of them.
  18. You would make less money doing that Not if the mags cost me $58.00 a piece to manufacture.
  19. They probably also pay more than Brownells to get those products. No offense to Brownells but they negotiate some very low prices out of manufacturers. I appreciate it when I buy, but I probably would rather sell 60K magazines at $78.00 a pop to independent retailers than 80K magazines to Brownells at $60.00 a pop.
  20. USPSA Limited, (1) 1x optic and whatever you want to do for iron sights. Doesn't matter if it's in the same plane, different plane, mounted upside down whatever. You get one optic. No 1.5x optics, no 1x with a magnifier, no variable power scopes, just a 1x. If you want to add irons have at it. Some folks are adding a side red dot to the fancy regular limited irons they have. Some are adding side irons to a top mounted optic. I wanted it left open for all the MSR buyers that picked up 16" iron sight guns and then stuck a red dot on them. If someone really thinks it's a major advantage to stick a side dot on their limited rifle or to stick side irons on their red dot sighted rifle, have at it. I just want to see some competitors in Limited. Some of the IMGA matches have decided it's best for their customers to restrict it to a 1x optic or irons, or to make them have to be in the same plane if you have two. Since this question is about USPSA the above answer applies.
  21. Three man team. Just find someone with a tube gun. There should be about 400 there. You can shoot rifle or pistol
