  1. Lens color recommendations from Decot: http://www.sportglasses.com/content/produc...mmendations.asp They also have a flash presentation where you can see what looking through each color looks like (as well as you can on a computer). (Hit start and pick the color and background you want) http://www.sportglasses.com/content/products_lenscolors.asp
  2. The "I" is Vic Tibbets. http://www.classichandguns.com/
  3. Kleen Bore Lead Away patches work great for removing small rust spots and they won't scratch anything. I spread some CLP on the cleaned area after the patches.
  4. The only fitting you need to do with a magwell or MSH on a Series 2 Kimber is to assure the Grip safety rests far enough back so the push rod doesn't extend above the frame. When you put it in, look at the push rod and if its flush to the frame then you don't need to do anything. If it sticks up, you need to file the faces of the little nibs on top of the housing to let the GS sit back and the rod will be lower in the frame.
  5. Have you tried any slim grips?
  6. Kimber factory spring is 16#. And yes, its time to change it at 2000 rounds.
  7. Looks like you drive 13834 out through the hole in 13881. Then 13881 through the hole where 13834 was.
  8. New brass will tend to stick on the powder funnel. After you shoot it a couple of times the mouth gets "burnished" and it will be smoother. You may also want to try some Hornady One-Shot lube. A quick spray on the brass does wonders.
  9. And........its on sale at Natchez right now for $27.95.
  10. There are two advantages. The first is the Lee FCD has a carbide resizing ring on it. It resizes the entire case length in station 4 (of a 550.) The Dillon resizing die doesn't resize all the way down the case. This sometimes leads to bulged cases that have trouble feeding after the 4th or 5th reload. The other advantage is the ease of adjusting the crimp. The Lee FCD has a separate crimp insert with a knurled adjustment knob on the top. You set the die down to the shellplate exclusive of the crimp. Then set the crimp by turning the knob. Well worth the investment IMO.
  11. The extractor in a Series 2 is a Series 70 type. The plunger does not interfere with the extractor channel like in a Series 80. sure is a lot of different "Series"
  12. They aren't wrap around but have large lenses.......DeCot Hy-Wyds. http://www.sportglasses.com/ Or if you just need a bifocal correction, you may want to try the stick-on static bifocals. They are called OPTIX 20/20 and you can put them on wrap-around glasses. You wet them and they stay on with static until you peel them off. They're reusable so you can reposition them or put them on any glasses you want. I got a pair at the drugstore for $20 a pair..........good for two pair of shooting glasses for me. http://www.neoptx.com/
  13. A couple of Kimbers.......
  14. Thanks Eric W and 10mm. Now the shape of the plug at the end of the powder bar finally makes some sense to me. To get rid of the clunk without any cutting or drilling, I found that if I just removed the wire spring that goes around the bellcrank cube stud, the rivet head and the cam, the cam doesn't pivot up and doesn't engage the powder measure body causing the "clunk". I found one of the springs in my spare parts kit and now its smooth! I was going to put a small bolt and nut in the slot on the bellcrank to keep the cam from pivoting but it's not necessary........so far.
  15. So they, they attach to the little stud from the bellcrank cube and go up and around the bottom of the powder measure (the funnel part)?
  16. For those of us who have only seen the new clunker design. Could someone please explain where the springs go? I assume they hook onto the little bar that sticks out of the Bellcrank cube but where are the other ends of the spring fastened? (on the bellcrank screw, under the locking nut??).

    Taps

While its a touching story, its also considered an e-mail urban legend. Take a look at this link for another historical version. http://urbanlegends.about.com/gi/dynamic/o.../taps/Taps.html

The full quote FWIW: "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." -- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials
  19. I had the same problem with once fired Federal American Eagle brass. I would get brass streaks that would cause sticking. I ordered another powder funnel to cut down on the stop and clean delays. I spoke to Dillon about it and they said..."shoot it again, it needs more burnishing and will smooth out." I did and it did.
