  1. I got that unit recently. It's pretty cool. My setup is pretty simple - 2 sided foam tape attaches to a hard clasp that grabs the camera head on the bill of the cap and the line feeds through the top of the cap, secured in between the adjustable velcro on the back of the cap, and down my back, through my belt, and the unit just slips into my back pocket. It works amazingly well, and there's really no fumbling around. When I'm up, I walk up to the thing, turn the camera on (takes maybe 10-15 seconds to get ready), and I'm ready to go. Here's some clips of my videos on youtube. You'll notice the gun is not positioned straight in the middle but slightly to the left in the videos. That is because I'm a right handed shooter but left eye dominant! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBAnfVnyqqM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IM0uv5eTWNY This is the dude...
  2. I know a shooter who uses one of these: http://shop.helmetcameracentral.com/HC-VIO-POV100-ULT.html I think some of his vids are available for view on youtube. I will have to get back to you guys on that one.
  3. How did you come upon this pistol? I have tried reaching Limcat for several months. No one ever answers the phone. That is one nice pistol!!!!!
  4. I have been waiting for one of these. Except, no dealer around here (NY) knows when they will be available, and claims no one has them. Mike--is this generally available? Where did you buy it from? I can't wait for your pics!!!
  5. Their prices seem extremely high though. What are their shipping charges like?
  6. yes, armscor is still in business. At least they were 3 months ago. I would recommend against Armscor. Starline is only a few bucks more expensive per case. Angus has good prices on them as well.
  7. Maybe it is a durability issue. I am sure that over time, the aluminum will hold up a lot better. My plastic one is looks pretty worn, and I have only had it for about a year.
  8. they seem really cool. I am anxiously awaiting their arrival!
  9. Welcome, I think you will have a lot of fun in 3-gun. I don't think you should buy anything too fancy. I started with a plain jane Bushmaster with a 16 inch barrel, and open sights. I would not worry too much about the chambering, because most manufacturers will make an AR that can handle both 223 and 556. I believe a 1:9 twist is pretty common. As for what to get. Buds gun shop offers some really good ARs. You can check them out at: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/36_787 A lot of guys in my neck of the woods shoot one of these: http://www.jprifles.com/ But, you will still be competitive with a plane-jane AR of reputable manufacture.
  10. That is awesome. I really like the way the dust cover extends so far forward. Who built it for you?
  11. I usually get my supply from Powder Valley. Looks like they are out of 4lb canister, and only have 1lb. The other usual places seem to be out. Grafs, and Natchezss. Eabco appears to have some in stock.

  13. Midway currently has a sale on a couple of long range shooting books by Dave Brennan. I bought Precision shooting: a reloading guide, and precision shooting: at 1000 yards. I have not had a chance to read them in detail, but they seem to address your questions.
  14. I was at the class this past weekend as well. I have been shooting USPSA for about a year. I really learned a lot. I would highly recommend it. joe4d--I think there is a procedure to request NROI to offer a class in your region of the country.
  15. The new Macs will run both Windows and OSX. It is 100% compatible. All new macs now use an Intel chip.
  16. That freak'n happened to me at a match this past weekend. I was quite embarrassed.
  17. try the search function. I like VV 3n38.
  18. +1 for simplyrugged I had them make me a thumbreak carry holster for my 3" N-frame. It took about 3 months, but the quality was excellent.
  19. It seems that Lapua is the gold standard of reloading brass for long range precision shooting. However, Lapua only makes certain calibers. Surprisingly, they do not make brass for 260, despite its popularity in long range precision shooting. Why don't they make 260? Moreover, I am deciding what caliber for my next long range rifle. At first, the 260 was high on my list, but it seems that the lack of quality brass adds additional case prep time, and it is therefore no longer in consideration. I am aware that Nosler and Norma also make brass for the 260, but they are not always available. I also find it interesting that they make 7.62x39 brass, rifles for this caliber are not necessarily known for their accuracy. Moreover, the 6.5 Grendel is currently available. I thought this round was relatively new, and the interest is yet to be established. I am surprised they make this over the 260. In case anyone is interested, because of the brass issue, my caliber choices are 6.5x47 or 6.5x55.
  20. Surgeon Actions ARE awesome. I think this may be my next purchase. However, people have expressed that the lack of a Sako style extractor is the weak point of this action. Can anyone elaborate/comment on this?
  21. I have not handled one, but I hear they are nothing short of excellent. I have one on order. Check out their forum: http://www.lwrifles.com/forum/index.php
  22. No one appears to be listing the overall length. I believe that can be quite significant.
  23. You should return it to Midway and get another scale. I had to return two of these scales to midway in the past year. They both suffered similar problems. Though the price it attractive, it comes with a lot of problems.
  24. I remember someone saying the reason why everyone shoots ARs in 3 gun and in IPSC, is because of the 94 AW ban and the AR was the only reasonably priced alternative. Assuming that were true, if there was no AW ban and all semi-automatic rifles were of similar price, what would we be shooting instead. Personally, I think the AR would still come out as everyone's favorite for this sport. The main reason is ergonomics and light weight. Although the Sig and H&K offer good rifles, they seem too heavy, and the mag release is a little awkward. What do you guys think?
