  1. You can't go wrong with the Savage. I like the fact that the barrels can be replaced without a gunsmith.
  2. That is one good looking gun!
  3. Does anyone know the general availability of the III's?
  4. Thanks for your replies. I just spoke with Muller. They do not recommend anything larger than #4 shot, and no slugs.
  5. Has anybody tried Muller choke tubes? If so, can you provide your opinions? http://www.mullerchokes.com/
  6. Thanks for the input. The reviews on Midway are not that flattering either.
  7. I am thinking about putting a 45 degree offset iron sight on my AR. The Advantage Tactical Guardian looks really promising, I like the bright colors and large features. Has anyone tried this sight? What are your thoughts and experiences? My second option would be the Dueck sight. Here is a link to the manufacturers website: http://www.advantagetactical.com/store/guardian.html
  8. I have been thinking about doing the same. I have an xtrema 2 I use for hunting. It is extremely soft shooting. I would recommend that you get the blot release button from Briley. It is really nice.
  9. It was the dummy rounds. I brought the gun to the range today and manually cycled live rounds (I don't want to do this in my house). The live rounds worked flawlessly. I then went through my dummy rounds and removed the bad ones. I had just bought the dummy rounds 2 weeks ago. I might have to return them. Thanks for your replies.
  10. I am having problems with shells not coming out of the magazine tube when the gun is cycling. I believe the problem lies with the shell stop not disengaging. This problem is not consistent. It will occur randomly regardless of how many shells are in the magazine tube. When I manually cycle the action, the shell stop appears to be disengaging correctly. This occurs when I manually cycle the rounds. I have not tested this under live fire conditions, but I do not think it should make a difference. I have taken apart the gun and done a thorough cleaning. This did not work, and nothing appears to be broken. Has anyone ever come across this problem? What did you do to fix it. Help. I am running an FN SLP
  11. What time does the night shoot commence on Friday? I want to know how much work I need to miss. Looking forward to attending.
  12. I cannot recommend a beginner helicopter, but once you are ready to get one with a camera, I would go with this: http://www.draganfly.com/
  13. I am have been interested in Horus reticles as well. The consensus is to stay away from Horus branded scopes. Of the major manufacturers: Leupold, US Ooptics, S&B, and Nightforce offer Horus reticles in their scopes. There might be more, I am not sure. For your price range, you should probably go with a Leupold or a Nightforce. I think you have to give the manufacturers a call to check on pricing and availability.
  14. I think Sabre Defense has a model marketed to the 3 gun crowd.
  15. Excellent match. Do you know if the scores/rankings will be posted online anywhere?
  16. I think it is an excellent choice. I have been running the 1.5-6. The glass is really nice, and I don't really notice that it is 1.5x instead of 1. I also like the speed with which you can move from 1.5 to 6x. Most times I only use the lowest or the highest magnification, so this throw lever is nice. The only problem I have with this scope is that it is kind of big, but the benefits outweigh this minor problem.
  17. It seems like S&W has gotten a lot of high profile shooters recently. So, she will shoot an open S_I? And the only thing she will be wearing that says S&W is her shirt? Interesting.
  18. Excellent website, the pics are really good. Keep up the good work.
  19. I would probably go with a DPMS patterned rifle, for the same reason aessu stated. The two dominant patterns are DPMS and Armalite (AR-10), they are not interchangeable. As for manufacturers, you may want to check out Iron Ridge Arms. They make matched uppers and lowers. No, you should not need the same manufacture for the barrel or mags. I am not sure about the rest though. The AR 308 market is not as uniform as the 223/5.56 market. You may want to consider a pre-built rifle as well. LMT should be releasing one very shortly. Also, LWRC makes a really nice 308 AR. They both accept DPMS patterned magazines.
  20. I am currently running a LaCie 2big Quadra (2TB). I have it set up to run RAID 1. The drives are hot swappable. RAID 1 really gives me peace of mind. I have been running it continuously for about 2 years now. No problems at all.
  21. I have a batch that I am testing. So far, they have been loaded 11 times, primer pockets are still pretty tight. I will keep you posted.

    SP101

The SP101 is an excellent home defense/CCW gun. The factory grip size is quite small, I think your wife should have no problem handling it. The laser option only comes with the 2" gun not the 3". Some people complain about Ruger's revolver trigger. However, with practice, their triggers seem to get better. I have no complaints with my SP101's trigger out of the box. I tried the 642 trigger at the gunshop, it seemed a lot heavier than the SP101. I am not sure how you feel about internal locks, but the SP101 does not come with an internal lock. However, all current production S&W revolvers do. I highly recommend the Ruger. Good luck with your purchase.
  23. Just make a general announcement once the scoring is complete, have the scorer do it, and/or tell the match director. I really hat the loafers as well.
  24. You could just have it shipped to your friend's house? I don't know of any store that stocks Dillon products in CA either.
  25. Don't forget about the LWRCI. A little pricey, but excellent. They will start shipping within the next few months.
