  1. The scam is the bad check.. You sell something for $5 they say they will give you $10 for the item if you cash their $15 check and send the extra $5 back to their private shipping company. You don't know that check is bad for a week or two, but by then you've already sent them a real check for $5.... Alternatively, they send you a larger check and when you, the honest seller, let them know it was too much - they claim it was a mistake and you can cash that one and send them the difference.... Because most banks will deposit funds after 48 hours, but still mail the check to the origin bank - it can take weeks to find out the check was bad, even when you bank put the funds into your account. Worst part is you are completely liable and the bank will take that money out, even if you spent it.
  2. At least I had some fun with this one... I would be happy in picking up the unit in person at my leisure time, it's advisable to make arrangement on how to get the unit shipped via my shipper without you paying for any cost. I will be sending you a money order/certified Checks as a form of my payment. All i need in order to get this done is your full name and mailing address where payment will arrive, If you wish to compromise with this payment method ,I will be sending you an excess in which you will send to my shipper as soon as you faithfully deduct your own part of the payment...I'm doing this cos my schedule for now is so tight and i'm intersted in buying it. kindly get back to me with all what i requested above in order to finalize payment immediately. Thanks P.S:- I will be offering you $700. As for the pickup you dont have to pay a dime for it cos my shipper will be responsible for the pickup to destination and they will come for the pickup immediately the cheque clears,My advice for you as a seller is to remove the item off Craig list,I will like to read from you if this is okay by you. I await your info for quick payment. On 9/14/08, VAGUS> wrote: Wade, How generous of you. That is more than I am asking! how absurd! I insist that you only pay me $600 for it and I will personally hand deliver it to you. This unit is too nice to be trusted in the hands of a shipping company, and I fear their treatment of the item will ruin the timbre and natural resonance of the finely crafted Tennessee unit. As someone with a busy schedule like yourself, who in the need for brevity uses the short hand "cos" for "because" to save valuable time, will appreciate my offer to accommodate you so readily. Please give me your itinerary and I will arrive by motorcade to deliver the unit under armed security.

Ummmmmmmmmmmm I Clearly remember watching it live when I was in college on April 8, 2000. So yeah, I am over 8 years old I was finishing up my B.S. in music, so needless to say "more cowbell" was a popular phrase amongst my peers at the time.

  6. A friend sent this link to me. http://bored-night.com/index.php/People/Gr...T-Handguns.html Whatcha all think? Can't imagine my personal terror had they been 1911's or something I was more intimately familiar with.
  7. Do you like crutches? All that machine work making you want to do Orthopedic Surgery now or something?
  8. So I when I go see Joe on Monday, I can be the first to break, errr play with your new toy??
  9. I don't know if I would call it bold, but more in the moment. I find in practicing, I only shoot and drill what I can consciously think to try and do. However in matches I let auto-pilot take over and don't think anything, make any plan mid-cof, or decide to try anything. Every so often however some amazing shots are made, in ways I never trained or practiced before. Most of the time they are subtle variances of calling shots and makeup shots that are nearly instantaneous. One particular bold move was on this one hoser stage where i needed to reload 3 times, I found myself shooting the last target in a group one handed while doing the reload. ( shooting 8rnd mags 1barny - shooting 3 targets and while transitioning to the 4th i was reaching for the mag and bringing it up while engaging the 4th strong hand ) Those reloads where well under a half second and my time was absolutely smoking on that stage. If i recall I came in second over all to one open shooter with my single stack on that stage. I have found it hard to consciously practice doing this - yet I will find my self doing this automatically time to time during a match.
  10. If you ever noticed Jerry always shoots facing west.. this ensures that the Earth continues to spin the right way. If he shot the other direction time would stand still, possibly could even go backwards. Steven Hawkins talks about the Micelik phenomena in his book.
  11. I've lived up in alaska for about a year over the 5 or 6 trips at different times over 4 years. There isn't any place like it. I had a lot of fun and left quite a bit of blood up there.
  12. You need a little patience but the pay off is worth it. This video was posted showing a flaw in the Golfing game for xbox The guys that made the game actually posted this video in explanation of the supposed mistake.
  13. I think I might take this shotgun in to trade on some other toys I want more. I don't like getting rid of guns, but the safe is only so big. This gun was only made 4 years and I can't get a good feel for what it may or may not be worth. Anyone have access to price guide or anything to give me an idea on this one? Thanks

  15. I want one. It will be handy when the zombie hordes start attacking.. Speaking of zombie movies are significantly lacking in mini gun action.
  16. I dunno. Sometimes people seem like they are being good sports, but in the back of their mind they are grumbling about "next time" and setting forth a plan of action for improvement so they will not have to suffer the agonizing stench of defeat again. Or maybe he was just being a nice guy either way it is the thought that counts right?
  17. I am shocked you are at a school that allows ccw's to ccw. That's awesome.

Good job My brother in law just got promoted - E3?A1C and my Dad is finally just now retiring at E9/Chief Master Sergeant I have an Air Force family, It is very weird going back home and meeting the airmen that work with my old man and how much younger they are than me. I think if flips them out more. I guess if I joined out of high school I would be well over the 8 year mark now.... yikes....
  19. I actual met you Rush, I sat in the NROI seminar and played the stupid shooter during the scenarios. I am in the Quad Cities, webmaster for the milanpracticalshooting.com site, and all around involved shooting guy in the area.. Unfortunately I am moving to Colorado at the end of October, but I know a lot of great guys that would love to take JR under their wing. Shoot me a message sometime and I can chat with you and give you some other people's contact info that are involved in teaching and instruction.
  20. Saving this thread from the second page... I like the shirts alright, but the line "getting back to where it all began" - Wouldn't a true snob quip " when did I ever leave?" :smug: I've only ever shot a single stack Alright- I have fired other pistols before, but not in competition. And I swear that I didn't enjoy it.
  21. It seems to me that I've seen a thread or two talking about someone getting a detonation from letting a live one hit a rock or casing.. I've seen a thread or two about extractor detonation too.. I am personally more worried about detonations due to someone pulling the trigger of a loaded gun, as that is by far the greatest threat an RO faces. I've decided that I am not going to RO anyone that has strong feelings one way or the other on this issue.
