  1. Chuck, Thanks for me also, as I cannot get the stages to come up complete without your translation. John, and Hunter
  2. Way to go Sam!! Congrgratulations, the best to a good guy. JWB
  3. I have four of the Wilson's. the first two seemed to have a very heavy spring in them. The second two worked great from the gitgo. All came from Brownells. I polished the insides of the top lips slightly on the first two, then loaded them up with 10 rounds, and left them loaded for a couple of days. They work fine now. The gun is a STI Sentinel. -----JWB
  4. And many more happy ones to come, Bill. Keep that round gun rolling. JWB
  5. Great match as always. Conrad, I do not know how you come up with the level III type stages , but you do . Again it was great to shoot with Micah,Chris, and team. It just could not get better. Dcarter it was good to shoot with you, and meet you, hope it happens again. Ed, i thought I had you but maybe next time. The minor caliber got me. THANKS every one. JWB
  6. Clyde, Thanks from me also, Flying is not the only one that has trouble downloading the stages. Since Hunter is a college, my computer skills are very limited, VERY LIMITED. -----JWB
  7. Try working on making your wrist as tight, and immovable as possible. Make the recoil taken up, and handled in the elbow. The wrist is like a ball joint. It will flex everyway, the elbow only one way. So recoil has a tendacy to go staight up, and straight down with elbow absorbing it. Watch out though, if you make the wrist to tight then the trigger finger gets hard to move. Lead, or face the target from you gun side, the weak side back a little. I also put my weak hand on my chest to secure it so it is not dangling around, slightly disturbing the sights. Yuo can secure it anywhere, but for me on the chest helps tighten the chest muscles which are also involved in the arm support. Just some thoughts, use whatever works for you!----------------- Shoot "A's"---JWB
  8. From the old bullseye shooters, (talking about a right hand shooter) low, and left was a jerk (or anticipation of recoil, and jerking the trigger with closing of the hand tighter) high and right was "heeling " shoving the heel of the hand forward, also in anticipation of recoil. Shots straight down at 6 o'clock is "no follow through" or relaxing the grip before the bullet left the barrel. Another good cure is a couple of sessions of "ball, and dummy rounds" . Have a friend load your mags with a dummy round somewhere in the mag. Then shoot. JWB
  9. Tac Timmy, What is the date for this match, I presume that it is a Sunday? Thanks---John
  10. Great job Pat, watching you shoot these last few years, I guess that GM is on the horozon. Keep on blasting buddy! John
  11. Great job Carl. I can not imagin how your group comes up with so many great stages. Wonderful imaginations in Michigan. The RO's were very helpful, and courteous. Couldn't have been better( except my shooting). Thanks ----JWBooth
  12. Congratulations Pat, I knew you had tallent, and grit to do it, when we shot the Nats. last year ,on the same squad. (thats why I'm shooting single stack now). Good Job! --John
  13. I know everyone always says great match on the morning after (because you have fun, thats why we are in this game), but this really was a great match. Many of the stages challenged the brain matter, and I'm not sure that I was up to the task. I just do not how these people keep coming up with these challenging stages. Anyway, thank you very much, for butt busting work for me to enjoy. Great squad mates, althuogh Chris, and Bill, and Dave,Hunter, and I knew would be. Airdale, thanks for hauling my tired dehydrated but around, and other help. thanks again Dave, and staff--JWBooth
  14. You can chamfer the cylinder with a hand tool also. I have done both of mine. You just have to be careful. the Steel of the star seems to cut faster than the titanium. As far as the sticking chambers, polish them with a patch on a cleaning rod, and a drill at low speed . Use about 800 grit valve (automotive) lapping compound, and run the drill slow, and keep looking at your work. Both of mine are done, and I have no extraction problems. Both guns are full lugg, and one has over 25k rounds through it. Had one of the PC guns first, and sold it.----JWB
  15. I'd love to be there on Sat. but Hunter's last LaCross game at Marshall is that day. Since I have not been to one this year I guess I will miss the match. C-ville always has great matches with lots of varied stages, some of which show up at level II, and Level III matches. Give us a highlite of it when it is over. JWB
  16. TRying to beat Bwana..... (someday, someday) Just kidding. Revolver people are good peaple, and they make the game enjoyable. JWB
  17. Flying, Great place to shoot, a little hard to find, the first time. Drive slow, and watch the road signs coming south out of Waco, and you will be ok. Hope to see you there John. Hunter will still be in school. -----JWB
  18. Linda, I for one wish to express a big thank you for all the work that you, and your husband do. I know several matches that would not run nearly as well without your effort. Again bless you, and, keep up the good job. JWB
  19. Great job, and congradulations Mike. I hope the solutions, and success continue. JWB
  20. I shoot a 646 in uspsa competition. Very accurate, with 155HBRN Berry bullets The bullets are hard to find, but you can order direct from the factory. As has been said ,recoil is a little stout at major loading, but nice at minor. The 625 is a little large for my hand. The "L" frame seems better. I shot it at the nationals this year, and got nosed out by "Bwana six-gun" ( if you call a 200+ point lead a nosed out). But since I'm old and slow it was not the guns fault. Give it a try, the main thing is come out and give those revolvers a work out. Oh yes for a good mild accurate load give Tite-grp a try . JWB
  21. Congrats Kathy. A good choice to help a great bunch of shooters there in KY.
  22. 41 mag, Berry makes a 40 cal 155gr full round nose hollow base bullet that works real well. Or works good in my 646's. The down side is that nobody carries them. So you have to order them from the factory, or have a dealer special order them. Give me a call when you can, I will talk loads with you for major with Titegroup( at least with the 4" Bbl. John Booth Ps: good shooting with you at the Nats.
  23. If you can stick around until Sunday, Ashland gun club (KY.)has a USPSA match on Sunday The 16th. (I think) Ashland is just accross the river from Huntington, WV. which is just down the road (I-64) from Hurricane. A great bunch of guys to shoot with. And -- if I remeber right, first time shooters are free. If you are interested, look it up on the USPSA web sight, and get the direction from the range web. (WWW.agcpd.com). They do a much better job of directions than I could. Hope to see you there. John Booth
  24. Happy Birthday Bill, hope you can make more of the matches now. ( Let me know so I can switch back to a bottom feeder when you do) . May you have many more. --John Booth
