  1. The apiero double stack is what I'm talking about. ( It's been a long match day, so excuse the muddled thought process). --JCB
  2. I thought it would be legal for limited-10 with only 10 rounds in the mag, or 120mm mags loaded to 10 rounds. ---JCB
  3. I have had three AET barrels, and they were the most accurate barrels that I have shot especially out of the ransom rest. I have shot all kind of bullets except lead cast bullets. As a old bullseye shooter ( shot for 18 years, Disting. Master) , in my opinion they are more accurate than the other favorite bullseye barrels. ---JCB
  4. After having an SVI open gun, and a Limcat open gun, I ordered two more Limcat limited guns . One for my son, and one for a friend . I do not know what you'all are talking about on slide looseness, all of mine were exceedingly tight. Did you buy them used? As for myself I will not be buying any more SVI, it will be Limcat. - JB
  5. Chuck, When do you plan on having your USPSA match dates. ( first sat, fourth Sundays etc? dates?) Thanks--John Booth
  6. cecil, Have you chronod the load that you are using?? You may be at major already. I use that load, with my Limcat, with six holes, and make 172 power factor. ---JWB
  7. A great match, with stages that seemed straight forward, but could trick you up. Thanks Jake, and the great RO crew. The RO's were very helpful, and friendly. Good time. PS. did anyone find a Sidewinder slide racker (silver) on stages 15- 18 or 1-4. The slide racker came out of my open gun. If so would you PM. me, and I'll give you shipping address, and shipping money. Thanks---Hunter Booth
  8. Mads, It was good shooting with you today. A very good match, and a great squad. ( the match as great also, but I will have too many greats in here). It's always good shooting with Bill Seevers, because I always learn something. Thanks for the effort.--John B
  9. STI makes several 2011's with stainless slides. The Apiero for one. Check out their web page. ---JCB
  10. Bountyhunter, I believe he is in error. I have Colt 1911 Gov. Models from the early '50's, '70 series, and '80 series. They all have .198 pins . From when I started shooting Bullseye in 1974, the standard pin dia. has been .198. We used .200 pins to take up the slack in worn pistols. They would lock up a little tighter that way.---JWB
  11. The Apiero has a stainless steel slide , Not hard chromed. The Executive has a Hard chrome finish, all over. I have both.---JEB
  12. Mfrits, Check the recoilmaster closely. When they start to come undone they cause this kind of problems , Just like a shockbuff coming apart. I like recoilmasters, and I think they do a good job, but they do crack, and start to separate at the flange. JWB
  13. The 9mm head diameter is .394. The 38 super head diameter is .406. the 38 super comp head diameter is .374. That is why Dillon puts a 380 ACP shellplate in the kit with 38super dies,for38 super comp when you buy a press with dies. so, it all is a little loose, but still works. The 38 super comp head diameter is the same as 380 ACP. ---JCB
  14. Forgetful, I would not worry to much about it. I have about 90,000 rounds through a STI eagle, and never replace any of them. I TAKE THAT BACK . I DID PUT an aftec extractor in at about 40k.I also have an executive with 20k. I have done nothing to it. Just my.02 worth---JCB
  15. Thanks for the good will. Hope to find out soon what isn't right. JWB

  16. You can use a "Hardball Distinguished 45" for all three. There are obviosly guns that are made just for each game that are a little better.Change the recoil spring, and you can use this gun for wadcutters also. I've used a Hardball gun for IDPA for some time. That will let you get your feet wet, and decide which way to go. ---JCB
  17. NTPHD, +1 on what Burning Squirrels said. Plus the bearing surface on a 147gr bullet is longer than a 115gr bullet. The rifling will grip the 147 differently than the 115gr. This will let the bullet exit the barrel slightly different. This is fairly common, with different bullets in the same gun. The hardness of the jacket material, between bullets, will sometimes do this also. Find one kind of load that the gun likes, and shoot a bunch of it. Good luck. --JWB
  18. Chris, Thanks for your help, on the match, and thanks very much for the prompt score reporting. The quick scores update, puts a good feeling to a great day, This is another reason C-ville is always a great match. ---JWB
  19. Jason, and Kyle, Great job on the stages today. The IDPA shooters had a great time, and some new insights on pistol shooting. THANKS--John B.
  20. Raven, In my opion, I would leave it in. I think that they work very, and do a good job on recoil reduction. All of my STI's still have them in place. The only problem with them is at about 20K rounds they should be replaced, as should the standard recoil spring. I think that they do a good job.--JWB
  21. Thanks. I'm waffling back and forth between buying a CZ or a 9mm ss. --JWB
  22. Bill, If you can Bring your CZ, I would like to look at it, and hear how you coverted it. ---JWB
  23. Dave, I still have mine that you shot, and turned you on to the PM9. Carry it every day. We need to get together, and do some shooting. ---John B
  24. Yes let's have a match, a blow out one. We have several IDPA shooters from Fort Harmar talked into coming. I hope they are serious. Hunter, and I will see you there. ---John
  25. Thomas, 10/15 there is a three stage indoor USPSA match at Canal Fulton. The Mid West GC.,if you are in the area that long. --JWB Starts at 1900 HRS. Fee is reasonable.
