    BUL M5

Spook, go http://www.arc-scandinavia.com click on the index button and go to BUL Transmark. You have to scroll down to see the new gun with the round triggerguard. (Edited by Joe D at 3:58 pm on Dec. 1, 2002)
  2. Looks like the BUL M5s are finally coming back to the US. It appears Charles Daly will be the importer. Sure hope they bring in the IPSC Model. The new models take the STI/SVI mags without modification. At half the price of a STI count me in for one.
  3. Well I just made the decision to stick with the one gun program. I am selling my 1911s and sticking with my Glock 35. I shoot it faster and more accurately than my Kimber. It just feels better in my hand. The trigger is not an issue with a Glock. A 2# trigger can be had with a little effort. My 34 and 35 group well under 2" @ 25 yds. 4. Some additional thoughts - the magwell adds needed weight to the frame of the gun. I happen to like the "Seattle Slug" rather than a full size add on magwell. It adds just enough weight for me. Most of us that shoot Glocks have found a 13# spring to work well also. A full length tungsten GR does add needed weight to the front.
  5. On going tests revealed a need to bend the second spring loop from the top up a little. I had a couple of misfeeds over the last 150 rds. So far so good. Flex, I had to trim the sides of the follower and the right front corner.
  6. You are at a little disadvantage shooting a G19, short sight radius and light weight. It is a wonderful carry gun, but not a true competition gun. If you have the funds purchase a G35. The G35 has to be the most versatile gun there is. You can shoot USPSA Limited, Limited 10 and Production. It is also a very good gun for IDPA SSP and ESP. There is very little recoil using a 180 gr. bullet loaded to a 125 PF for Production, SSP and ESP. I am seeing more and more upper level shooters going to the G35. IMO the oversize lock is a waste of money. (Edited by Joe D at 4:26 am on Sep. 10, 2002) (Edited by Joe D at 4:08 am on Sep. 11, 2002)
  7. I use a 147 gr plated bullet over 3.0 grs of Titegroup. Shoots very softly out of my Glock 34. Much nicer than the 115s.
  8. The .40 tubes can be made to work. I have one set up for 15 rds. and one with a Arredondo +5 extension. I can do a slide closed reload with 20 in the mag. The followers have to be trimmed to work properly. So far both have worked well. They will not drop free with anything over 9-10 rds in them.

    Holsters

I find the Blade-Tech injection molded holster to work very well. It sits much lower than the Uncle Mikes or Fobus. It is half the cost of their regular holsters.

    Mag Question

Mark, are you talking about me? You just think I am putting in 11. I have filled and redrilled the holes in the back of the mag. Game on!!!!!!! Boy did I shoot poorly Sun. Too many external distractions.
  11. You actually don't need a new ejector. I have a 9mm barrel for my 35. So far,1,000+ rds, there have been no problems. Some people have reported feed problems, but I suspect those issues are more related to the tighter chambers associated with most aftermarket barrels. I reamed out the chamber of my barrel to open it up a little. My Federal barrel has performed well. Accuracy is at least equal to the stock barrel.
  12. FYI, the new model Glocks have a different locking block that cures this problem.
  13. I like the Blade-Tech injection molded holster. Less than $25. It is the lowest riding holster I could find.
  14. I am starting to see a subtle change in some of the IDPA stages that actually allow you to "game" some of them. Maybe game is not a good description, but rather being able to shoot a stage more than one way.
  15. I was looking at the EAA site again and noticed that the Witness now sports a "Super Sight" and "Heavy Duty" slide release. Wonder if this is just hype or some of the old complaints addressed. Spook, I think you are right. A good shooter is capable of winning with just about anything. Eric could win with a Jennings. "Super Dave" beat me at last Saturday's Ga. IDPA State Championship Match shooting a Beretta.
  16. Shooter, as of yesterday EAA did not have any firm date of delivery to them. They are the only importer of the BUL guns. EAA said it could be November before they got the guns.
  17. I wonder how the Witness would hold up with the new PF in .40. It might make an interesting Lim 10 gun. Seems to me they really fit you hand well. I am getting tired of waiting for BUL to bring their guns back to the US. EAA did tell me yesterday they are going to import the "IPSC Model" BUL 5 in .40. According to Saul SVI mags will now fit the BULs without modification.
  18. Has anyone used one of these guns? Brian, the salesman at EAA said you had shot one a good bit. Any comments.
  19. Shooter, not trying to start an argument here, but have you actually checked the Federal barrels? I closely checked the three I have installed. They had as good or better lockup than the stock Glock barrels. The chambers are tighter than the Glock barrels, but not too tight. All three shot golfball size groups at 25 yds. I am very pleased with the way my 9mm/35 barrel shoots. John, I have a 9mm/23 barrel that I got from Olympic that shoots well also. I have seen a glock go full auto after a Bar-Sto barrel installation. The owner of that gun shoots with us at IPSC matches.
  20. John, you might want to look at the Federal barrels. There are a lot of shooters that turn their nose up at them, but I have installed three in Glocks with very good results. Two have been 9mm conversions in G35s and one was a G22 .40. All three shot as good or better than the stock barrels. The $69 price is hard to beat.
  21. Delmont, I like the setup. Wish I could find a lighter spring for my 34. Chris is right about removing the GR plug. I capture the rod in my vise so there is no spring pressure on the plug when I remove it. I made an extra long guide rod out of D2 steel the other day for my 34 and 35 to shoot IDPA ESP. You have to use the plastic rod in SSP. I have mixed opinions about the T.H.E. long tungsten GR. Mine is developing a groove where it goes through the slide. You can get into trouble by shortening the recoil spring too much in a Glock.
  22. FYI, the new model BULs have frames that will accept SVI mags without modification. Just wish someone would start importing them. EAA only offers them in .45.
  23. I replaced the stock 17 lb. spring with a 13 lb one in my G34 and 35. You can use the stock guide rod. The little plug in the end is removable.
  24. 2,000 rds so far. I used the same setup in a .40 Kimber, but with an 11 lb. spring. I have "parked" my 1911s for a while and mostly shoot a Glock 35 in Lim 10. I use a 13 lb spring in the Glock. Wish they made one a little lighter.
