Allen Pittman
It could be worse. A cop friend of mine who' s father commited suicide with a revolver, actually got the gun out of evidence after the district attorney OK'd the guns release. I dont know what he did with it but even I wouldnt want that one back.
Hank Ellis
The gun will have the morals of the man who weilds it.Just another tool...use it. Athough the gun was used by a criminal, there is no blood to the gun. To me, not an issue in this case. Shoot it.Here's another spin to ponder on. A few years ago I needed another main canopy for my backup skydiving rig. Went to my horse trading gear dealer to see what he had. I was looking for a particular make and model to match what was in my primary rig. Off hand he didn't have what I wanted. However he did have a main that had a story and he'd let it go at a good price. The story was that an inexperienced jumper with a high performance canopy made a pilot error doing a low turn that resulted in fatal injuries. The widow sold the rig to the gear dealer. He was willing to part out the rig. However the canopy has a few .. uh .. stains. 'Bring it out.' I said. The stains were blood that were on the slider and lower part of one line group. Gee, it's only strings and cloth made from petroleum distallates. It has no soul. Money exchanged hands. Replaced the slider due to the blood stain damaging the fabric and grommet. Rinsed the line group with fresh water. Good to go with a slight discoloration. Probably have made 150 jumps on that canopy. Opens great. Flies and lands sweet. Don't even think about its' past anymore. Some would never jump something that someone died on. Just doesn't bother me.

Mayhaps even a fairy circle on the North side of a hill where an oaken glade had been, but I never would have thought of a pentagram with chalk on a wooden floor. Are there no oak forest in your part of Texas or is there some other majik here? Blessed Be.

johnstuf
I would say that you have yourself a piece of "History". How many of us can say that about any of our possessions? Lucky for you, "lucky" wasn't too lucky with Lucky. Shoot it and enjoy it. Safe and sane shooting everyone, johnstuf
jasond
No one else would have "Lucky"? I'd have paid extra! The savings should help pay for the engraving, anyway...
abn-rgr
I have a first series colt woodsman match target. Bought it for $500 from a police officer whose dad killed himself with it. I have no problems with this whatsoever. A $2500 gun for $500......yeah I sleep just fine at night.

38superman
I am an engineer and I don't believe in anything but provable, repeatable results. The scientific method requires us to observe, form a hypothesis, theorize and perform testing to prove the theory. If you believe this gun is somehow tainted, put it to the test. Have someone go out and point the gun at another state trooper. If the the result is the same, the gun is actually cursed and should be disposed of properly. I could take care of the disposal for a small fee. (All curse verification testing by others). Tony
taco101
I have a hammer that my brother used to TOTALLY smash his thumb......like surgery needed smashed. I use it all the time. With no reflection. It's a tool. Just like your new blaster. Do your best to wear it out. Now if that is not possible I will step up and take it off your hands. $150 sound OK? Jaxshooter
I had a chance 6 or 7 years ago to buy a new Wilson Super Grade SS for 250.00. I had to pass when I found out the original owner (knew him casually from shooting)comitted suicide with it. If he had shot somebody else with it I would have jumped on it. UltraTen
Personally I don't see a problem here. I know alot of people that have bodies on their guns (deer, bear, bunnies, and even some paper ones). Most, if not all, of them are proud of it. The gun is just gun, it's only as possessed as the person behind it.
