dand38s
My old open gun slide cracked at the ejection port. I need to see about replacing the slide. I have a Para frame with a accu-railed slide. Does anyone know of a gunsmith that would be willing to do this job, preferably around the Houston area? Does anyone have an idea as to what kind of cost I would be looking at to do this job? If the gun did not have accu-rails it would not be a problem getting the slide replaced. Most gunsmiths that I have talked to do not want to mess with it once they find out about the accu-rails. Does anyone use accu-rails anymore or is this showing the age of my gun?

HSMITH
You will have to send it to an accurail installer. The slide has to be machined for the rails.

dand38s
I already have a new open gun. I just want to get this one repaired for a back-up.
jpl
Send it to Doug Jones. He can do the slide and put the barrel in it with the comp. It looks like he is in the same building as Kreiger hisself from the address. He has a web site and an ad in Front Sight.
wide45
When fitting a new slide to an accurailed gun, I have heard it is recommended that you send it to whoever did the original rail job, so it can be cut on the same tooling.
dand38s
That is going to be hard to do. I bought this gun used and have no idea who did the work.
Dan Sierpina
I sent a frame and slide to Doug Jones for a rerail. The slide was railed, the frame wasn't. His turn around was outstanding, as was the fit. The slide was originally done as an extra limited slide with a comped slide for an open gun. Doug was not the original gunsmith that did the rail job.
