dglock9
Call for Volunteers! Please let us know if you can help out! October is almost here and we need USPSA certified ROs and CROs to help officiate the 2007 Kentucky Section Championship, which will be held at Silver Creek Conservation Club in Sellersburg Indiana. We have 18 range officer openings openings that we need to fill asap. CRO's shoot the match for free and RO's shoot for half price ($40). Certified CROs and ROs from out of town get a free hotel room (shared) on Saturday night. The "RO Match" will be held on Friday of the match weekend. Anyone working the match is welcome to shoot the RO Match for free. Certificates will be awarded for the winners of the RO match. There will be an RO prize table. All prizes donated by sponsors will be given away to match staff by blind raffle. All ROs will receive a raffle ticket for each match day they work, up to three. In addition to Range Officers, we need folks to help with setting up and tearing down stages, running stats, registering shooters, chronographing and preparing food. All volunteer staff eat for free. Any Match worker who works the entire three days of the match will be able to enter the actual Section Championship Match for prestige if they wish for only a $20.00 fee. This makes them eligible for trophies, plaques and Title. If you want to volunteer and help us make this the best match possible, please send email to: Lee Leonard, Event Coordinator at leedvc AT sbcglobal DOT net or Harry Sublet, Match Director at pvraone AT aol DOT com or PM me, Dominic Bosco
Coach
I am confused. Is there a separate match for the RO's or are they just shooting on Friday? What is the fee for RO's and workers $40 or free? There is conflicting information in this post.
TruStreet
I heard a rumor that it might be canceled or postponed due to lack of staff to run this match. IS there Any truth to this?
dglock9
I heard a rumor that it might be canceled or postponed due to lack of staffto run this match. IS there Any truth to this? Royce, staff will shoot on the afternoon of Friday the 12th. Any staff that can't make the shoot on Friday afternoon/evening will shoot on Sat or Sun as time and work load allows. Regarding the rumor of cancellation: We don't have enough certified ROs to do the 12 to 15 stages that we originally planned. So we're going to do 10 instead and keep the round count at 250-300. Anyone who has paid and is disappointed by this change will receive a refund. See my post, #32 on this thread for the latest match information. It should clear up some of the confusion that I caused. dcarter
Yes, go with the 10 stages. This will be the last big match I can attend this year and I really want to go. Don't cancel! I will be sending in my app and fee today.
TruStreet
I heard a rumor that it might be canceled or postponed due to lack of staffto run this match. IS there Any truth to this? Royce. The "RO match" is a separate from "The Match" and the RO Match is shot Friday. TruStreet, I just got off the phone with the Event Coordinator. The problem is that we don't have enough CROs. With the staff that have currently have committed we feel that we can only do 10 stages comfortably. However, our published match announcement says 12 to 15 stages. So we have the choice of canceling the match and issuing full refunds, or running the match on the dates scheduled and only running 10 stages and offering refunds to anyone who would be disappointed with that. As of today, we're leaning towards running the match with 10 stages and we're interested in hearing any feedback that anyone may have on that. I'll be working the stats room on all three days. I am hoping to take a RO course in Atlanta IN in November. I wish I lived closer or I would Pitch in to help. I'm with the rest of the Guys I'd rather do 10 stages than non at all. Maybe you can twick the stages you currently have to keep the round count about the same! Money & apps are on the way. Manny AKA TruStreet

We are all very confident that the ten stage match will be a success but we were concerned because we had promised 12 to 15.
