thunderstick
I am shooting a G21 (vanek trigger) in IDPA CDP, and I am curious what other like shooters have done to their guns and still kept the gun and mags legal. Looking for input.

If not are you able to slap them in like normal or do you have to do the "thumb" push in to get them to seat?
collinsk
Hi-Viz fiber Optic front sight Ameriglo standard black target rear (.150" rear notch) Glock extended slide release (easier to reach with my thumb on a wide frame Glock) Lone Wolf Barrel (to shoot cast bullets) Ghost 3.5 Tactical Connector 25 cent trigger job I have experimented with a Wolff steel guide rod, but I cannot see any advantage over the standard Glock unit. For 165 PF ammo, I like the feel of stock Glock better. I personally don't see the need for a magwell on a Glock in IDPA.
cmzneb
3.5# factory Glock Trigger connector $0.25 trigger job Heinie Slant Pro sights Hogue Grip sleeve Still pretty much stock and RELIABLE. Shot my first IDPA classifier today and shot a 105 with the G21. Just a few seconds behind my G34 with the exact same set up.
Suburban Commando
Stoned the rough spots off the trigger bar from the stamping operation. Polished the striker safety button. Polished the striker. I really couldn't get any purchase at all on the stock slide release, so I put in a Glock extended release. Sights are Heinie Straight Eight Slant Pro with the race cut. Lightning Striker (I think) stainless steel captured guide rod with ISMI 17 pound spring. I really like the Seattle Slug Plug in my G17, I want to get one for the 21 too. That's it. It's not an optimal competition rig, but I carry it, and snap on a flashlight for home defense duty.

ryucasta
Works well with the factory basepad (Doesnt require using the thumb) and I also use the Pierce +2.

ryucasta
Correct me if I'm wrong but to my knowledge there is no Factory Glock Extended Magazine Release for the G20/21 series.
RobMoore
You are correct in that it doesn't come from the factory that way, but I think its easiest to say "Factory Glock Extended Mag Release" to distinguish it from other aftermarket ones. If you mean that there isn't one that fits, "Glock Parts" sells them. I do not use the extended slide stop lever because my left thumb pushes it up causing premature slide lock. My Glock mods for my SSP pistol are Dawson red FO front sight Innertube grip trigger polish job 3.5# conn. ryucasta
The JP Enterprise Extended Magazine release uses the original G20/21 magazine release they just tap it and add the tear shaped pad to it.
Mahead
I shoot my 21 in limited but here is what I have done: Dawson FO front sight Ameriglo target rear Wolf 15# spring and steel guide rod JP extended mag release cut the slide release flush (I lock the slide back early if I don't do this) Arredondo mag extensions (with ISMI para 140 mag springs) brass grip plug Storm Lake barrel grip tape it shoots great and I love it. thunderstick
how many rounds are you getting in your mags with the Arrendondo mags? Also what kind of reliability with the mags are you getting?
dirty whiteboy
how many rounds are you getting in your mags with the Arrendondo mags? Also what kind of reliability with the mags are you getting? 18 in the mag, I usually only run 17 in relaod mags, but 18 can be done, just not as slick . If you can find the old style followers it helps! No problems w/ this mag set up. Edited July 15, 2007 by dirty whiteboy
Mahead
Like he said 18 but running 17 makes for an easier reload, I always start a stage with 19 in the gun. From my experiance you can't use the spring that comes with the mag extension, it is the same as the 9/40 mag spring and it will bind. I found using the ISMI 140 para spring works great, and if you cut a coil or so the 18 rounds are easier.
