When I got the pistol, I thought the front sight looked way too short, but it turned out to be perfect. Point of impact was exactly as I had requested when I ordered it. On a side note, after running a bunch of rounds through it since first posting the pic, I can report back being exceedingly happy with the gun. It hurt writing the check, but it is a joy to shoot. I love the Heinie rear sight, and don't notice any difference going back and forth between it and a Bomar-sighted gun--and I like the reliability factor of one less thing to break.
