A new use for targets

As prayer rugs for Chechen soldiers, during pre-deployment training for the "special operation" in Ukraine. Unless there is some other widely used target, that shape, that is white on one side and brown on the other....

Seems a bit odd.  IPSC everywhere in the world hasn't used a target that shape since 2008.

 

Well, it's the NYT.  They could have grabbed a random photo to 'illustrate' the story.

In the NYTimes article you can see them a little bit clearer. Although the downside is you are now looking at the NYTimes. There’s another image where these are being used as cardboard backers for a more conventional bullseye. Clearly they learned from the folks who frequent my gun club!
