Tampa-XD45
So this happened 2 days before a level 2 match. Dillon did their usual excellent job of quickly shipping a new replacement part, but it sucks that it happened. Looks like a MIM part. Also, I had to use a sledgehammer to pound out the remaining stub from the bottom after soaking with Kroil overnight. Maybe I'll use some anti-seize on the replacement. Are broken Dillon operating handles a common occurrence?
dillon
The handles are a screw machine part, made from round bar stock. Based on the discoloration it appears to have been partially cracked for a while.
m700
I would guess that was an imperfection in the stock. I would expect that part to bend before it cracks.
Farmer
By the looks of the corrosion I would definitely anti-seize it and lube any other pivoting parts. And yeah that’s been cracked for a while. You shouldn’t seat your primers so hard.
xrayfk05
Had the same happen with my LnL AP, pretty surprising to have a 0.6" diameter rod break off. It looked like there was a small crack for a while and corrosion did the rest. (yay 70 to 80% humidity in my garage)
