Squirrel45
This is my first m&p pistol 9mm. I loaded some up and failed plunk. These would chamber in my other pistols etc. Are these know for having a shorter chamber? Not a big deal used to it with CZs, just curious. Thanks Squirrel
mpom
Am surprised as that has not been my experience with both 3 1.0s and 1 2.0 M&Ps. Why not take a fired case, resize just enough to snugly hold the bullet you are using for reloads, and insert into barrel (out of the slide) till the base is flush with hood of barrel, barrel point up. Push out round and measure. If grossly short, consider using a different profile bullet or reaming chamber. Nitrided barrel is really hard but Memphis Mechanic on this site has done this for members in past. Mark
HarperCZ
I have not noticed an issue with my older 2.0 4.25 but my new 5" metal Competitor is definitely shorter or tighter chambered than my Apex barrel that I replaced it with.
Matt1911
I haven’t noticed it. My ammo gets tested in an EGW case gauge and as long as it sits flush in that, it works fine in all my 9mm guns. Recently I’ve been using Blazer 115 grain factory and it’s been fine as well.
desertc
I own a Gun Range in SW Texas and own three S&W M&P 9s. A new shooter just brought in a new M&P 9 M2. With reloads that had no problem in any of my M&Ps, hers refused to go into battery twice. I brought her ammo into the shop and chamber gaged it and all passed easily. She will be back tomorrow and I'm to to inspect the chamber for tool marks, etc. and the remainder of her ammo.
shred
Check the chamber leade. Most gauges don't because they vary so much and its probably the cause of 90% of "ammo fits the gauge but doesn't fit my gun" issues.
Terry44
I have several M&Ps and have only had an issue with 147 RN blue bullets.
Squirrel45
This was with blue bullets as well. I just ordered some 115g that have a noticeable shoulder with a very pointy leading noose. I think the 115s and 124s I was using were too blunt.
Squirrel45
Switched bullet profile. Everything seems to be good now. I think the ones I was using needed to be seated deeper but that made oal really short.
xWhoDatx
I found my M&P 2.0, 4.25" barrel starts touching Blue Bullet 147 TC at 1.135". I have run that same 147 TC @ 1.120" without issue.
