drdre352
I have the Dillen 650 press and picked up a Dillon carbide 9mm die set to load 9major. The one that I have for mine are actually flares the case wide so I can relatively seat the bullet. This one doesn’t seem to flare it out any. I have it set at the same distance as the one for my minor ammo. Am I missing some adjustment?
CC3D
The sizing die isn't supposed to flare the case at all, that would be the job of the powder funnel. I may be misunderstanding your post but I think you have your die functions confused

This Sounds like you previously used the Mighty Armor 9mm die, which resizes just to spec. The Dillon 9mm resizing die undersizes the brass and therefore prevents bullet setback by case tension. To bell the top of the brass you have to use a powder drop funnel. Many prefer Mister Bullet Feeder powder funnel for this process. There are many threads on Enos here people discuss what works for them. Do a search and check them out.
drdre352
CopyI bought this used and first time using this quick change unit. This is the powder funnel die that came with it. I will search more on it then. Thanks for the direction! Edited December 21, 2022 by drdre352 Added photos
sharko
Looks like a HTC funnel because it has the step, Dillon's don't. I like those powder funnels because they don't bell or at least the way I adjust them they don't. Just run them down so the step enters the case then the bullets sit right in there perfectly straight.

ysrracer
The sizing die doesn't flare the case, the powder funnel does. I use a Mr Bullet Feeder powder funnel and a U die.
