  1. What finish is that gun, slide & frame?
  2. What I was trying to say is if the locking lugs are causing your drag there would probably be scratches along most of the hood. The barrel drops away from those locking lugs as soon as the slide starts back so if you have scratchiness for more of the slide travel it's probably something else. BTW: Here's one of my slides, around 8k rounds. The barrel is DLC and doesn't show any wear.
  3. What does the barrel hood look like? Those locking rings really wouldn't affect the feel except for the first half inch because it drops, unless the hood is dragging because the barrel is not fit right. I have two DVC Limited's, one hard chrome and one DLC and neither look that worn inside the slide.
  4. Yah and PD just got them back in stock, I got four cases, good for another year maybe.
  5. I only use JHP's and only buy in bulk, JHP's have always gave me better accuracy. Agreed on the pricing, in bulk there isn't enough price difference to use plated or coated. And I recently found another reason to use JHP's over FMJ's, well at least FMJ's with exposed lead bases. I shot a couple hundred factory FMJ's out of my JP5 and yikes did I have to dig lead out of my comp.
  6. I zero at 25yds but just have to remember with a lot if the targets that are closer or when your shooting over barriers. We often shoot out of or around vehicles and last match, I don't know if they were kidding, but they said if you shoot the vehicle it's a DQ. But those things have the mirrors blown off, glass blown out and holes all over them from people that forgot the height over bore.
  7. Well that was my observation also, could never get as good of accuracy with 147's and only good accuracy with 124/125's if I pushed them fast like 357Sig or major.
  8. I would agree with this but minor 9 doesn't have much recoil anyway. I like the faster (snappier) 115's. I think I think of recoil on a 9 more in terms of muzzle rise and never notice hit on my hand. A lot of people say 147's recoil less but I've tried them several times and it always seems like more recoil to me. As far is muzzle rise heavier rises more, may be slower rise but is still more too. I learned this years ago loading 45 Colt in a SAA, I started with 255gr bullets and it shot 6" high at 25yds, then I tried 230gr and got 3" high but 200gr were right on. Came to the conclusion it was time in the bore. Don't notice that much difference on modern guns with zero change but then they usually grip much better than those Sigle Actions.
  9. That is really weird, I opened the files with notepad and didn't see the session name, then I wondered it Excel screwed them up. So I transferred one again and not only did it have the name it was titled with the name plus date time info. Like 1st_xc_43_n340_2024-03-20_12-02-10.csv Well it left off the dot in 4.3 but that's a file naming convention.
  10. I load range brass all the time in major. I don't know how you would know if it was loaded major before. I sort for headstamp, wet tumble, size and rollsize and load. I use a Shockbottle case gage but haven't had a failure since I started rollsizing. Just use the gage now cause it dumps straight into my 100 round boxes.
  11. Found something else irritating about this thing. Sure you can export strings with email or bluetooth or whatever but you have to do them one at a time as far as I can tell. Also I liked the feature that you can name/label your sessions, just that the export doesn't contain that part.
  12. I load most of my ammo to 1.115" (JHPs) but I also have a lot of Barsto barrels in Sig's and those are to long for those barrels. Have to shorten them to 1.1". Never caused a feeding problem just a problem going fully into battery.
  13. Another vote for Titegroup, I get very good accuracy with that and 200gr SWC and 185gr HAP's.
  14. I always sort my brass one time I thought I did but screwed up, this was 357Sig, Barsto barrel in a Ransom rest at 25yds. I picked up my brass and found 6 Speer and 4 Winchester cases. Cowinkidink? maybe. As for 147's, I've never got decent accuracy out of them and I only get good accuracy with 124's in Major loadings.
  15. That and Zero's is all I use, 1.115 OAL. Never had a failure, I use Glock factory mags.
  16. I use 3N37 for my major loads under 124gr Zero's, works great. 3N38 worked but was too full causing spillage. A lot of people around here use HS6 but when I tried it it left a fine grit all over the bench. I have a ton of AA#7 but it didn't work that well for major loads. AutoComp worked well too, that would probably be my second choice.
  17. Well using the phone app that's the only way I've found to export data, one at a time. But I've only used it once and I'm not sure it you don't use the phone app and hook it up with USB what you get since the phone app removes the strings from the device. Next time out I will try that.
  18. They are CSV and open with Excel. Like this
  19. Yes I guess you can. Just go to bluetooth right click on receive a file. Wish you could do them all at once though.
  20. I don't use the phone app on my Labradar, I tried it when it first came out and I think its been updated but haven't tried it. Early on when I did try it it kept crashing so I stopped. But the Labradar does give more information like at different ranges. The Garmin is kind of irritating in that it looks good but takes the data from the chrono and then if you want it on your computer the best I could figure is you can export (meaning email) to yourself one string at a time. When I was using them at the same time the Garmin seemed to give results at what the Labradar gave at 17yds. The Labradar calculates back to muzzle and I asked Garmin and they said it does the same. I also asked Garmin if you could use it beside a pistol instead of the illustrated over the chrono (which I was doing) and they said you can but there could be differences, hmm.
  21. OH great, and I just bought a Garmin. I like my Labradar better then the Garmin but it's kind of a pain because of the size and battery situation. I didn't see an accuracy claim on the Garmin and I was getting a 2% difference on them side by side.
  22. With 25 years on my 650 and many hundreds of thousands of reloads I've never had a primer pop, even with the one that go in wrong and you have to really mash them to get it to advance.
  23. I got some 17 round magazines for the download stages but found they are so light they don't always fall out when you hit the mag release.
  24. I just got a bunch of the Armanov powder funnel quick releases, nice when you finish and dump the powder.
  25. Yah I had the same thing happen to varying degrees with some 44Mag's that I tried to pull with a kinetic puller, I just tossed them.
