Disconnector fitting for more double action

I put a new flat trigger in with a reach reduction disco that cz says needs to go in with it. Everything works and resets like it’s supposed to. It just seems like the throw on the double action is to short. The hammer travels half as far as where it sits in single action. I read a bunch on here I just want to make sure I fit the right spots. On the picture do I need to file down where the arrow is pointing shorting the overall so the disco sits lower.

Interested in this as well. I have the reach reduction kit in mine and have occasional light strikes in DA with CCI primers. Never had the issue before the RRK. The hammer travel is definitely less now.

I'd installed reach reduction trigger setups in my gf's Shadow 2s and instantly regretted it. Non stop failures to fire. Put a regular disco back in, a CZ-zero, and the hammer is back all the way during DA, and lights off the same ammo no problem. Used the pretravel screw to remove the small amount of pretravel and ended up with a much better setup.

Did you use the extended firing pin and lighter firing pin spring? I thought RRK and extended firing pin sort of go hand in hand.

I ended up playing around with it this weekend. I took my original cz disconnector and started filing. I filed the wings until the DA would reset and function then polished it. I then measured the up and down dimension in my picture and it was about .455. I filed and checked fit about every .005. I got down to .440 and it was getting close to my trigger running out of travel so I stopped. It is hard to tell how much hammer swing I got but I took two full mags out back and DA every shot and they all went off so I think it is good to go. I have a 13lb Cajun hammer spring factory firing pin and firing pin spring in the gun. I have the czc flat trigger with a trigger cut by Tim.

I won't run an extended firing pin, never needed to, and the potential negatives of having one outweigh any possible advantages.

What are the negatives of a xl firing pin?

They can be long enough to set primers off with out disengaging the firing pin block. Also a hit to the hammer with the hammer fully down can set the gun off. 

 

And the light firing pin springs don't last that long and can cause malfunctions after they fail.

The factory light ones aka Rami springs last a long time. The cajuns are lighter yet and need replaced more often.

ahh, yeah I only run the Rami ones, or copies of it from the various suppliers out there now.

Ahhh I see... so if you're running the race hammer and RRK, then keep the stock firing pin length but run the RAMI firing pin spring?

I run, stock firing pin, Rami firing pin spring (or what we called Canadian Shadowmate firing pin springs as we didn't get Rami's in Canada, but our "special edition" Shadows came with super light firing pin springs, which I believe Fox is correct in saying are Rami ones), Match hammer, zero disco, 9 or 10lb hammer spring (have gone as light as 8lb, but went back up due to the randomness of primers these days), and 9 or 10lb recoil. I don't personally run light trigger springs, unless they are only slightly lighter as I like a good solid reset, and I don't run light sear springs either. My trigger weighs about 5.5lb in DA, no idea in SA as I don't care. I do not use any custom or adjustable sears, and if I do run a non CZ disco, it would be the older Eemanntech disco that wasn't the short reach one (not sure if they have two discos out now, or if they made a line change, but my luck with the newer ones is bad). The Orange Shadow 2 comes with what appears to be CZ zero discos, so I don't need to change them.  And my new Orange also came with a proper competition hammer, unlike the first one I got that came with some ugly hybrid.
