dsrelichunter
I feel like this is a stupid question so please be gentle with my feelings. I'm stocking up to reload for my Glock and I'm curious about 40 cal vs 10mm when looking for actual bullets to put to brass. The supply chain is limited and I find more 10mm stand alone options and not very many 40 cal stand alone options. However, I see them listed together on many sites. Are the bullets interchangeable as far as reloading to 40 cal brass?
Farmer
Yup, .400 or .401 diam bullets work for both. Most 10mm uses Large pistol primer whereas 40 is Small, and of course the 10mm cases are longer. Edited November 8, 2021 by Farmer

You do realize that .40 caliber is 0.40 inch, which is the same dimension as 10mm (just American inches vs. metric), right?
Farmer
Actually .40 is 10.16 mm.
S&W686
Both .40 cal. and 10mm take the same bullet. If you are looking for supplies Precision Delta does have 180gr FMJ available.
Yeti
Same. Try some jacketed 180's or 165's to start. Glock factory barrel will not like the long OAL many of us run for 1911/2011's, stay <1.160"
Guy Neill
As a footnote, there are 10mm cases being made with small primer pockets, so if you are loading 10mm you will need to inspect and sort as needed.,
