I did mine as well, but I didn't do the slide release guard, and wish I did. I have another X5 Legion grip arriving in a couple days for a makeover. Alma did my son's Legion grip and I like it better without the raised slide release protection area. I found that using electrical tape cut in strips the long way made it really easy to form the curves without having to use multiple pieces. Makes for really smooth transitions.
