Silicone carbide grip grit question

I like the #36 and have done a few, one done over after #60 at first.  You will find the SI grit over epoxy sharper and grabbier than any stick on, as there is no coating over it.  The actual size of the Talon tape grit might be the same but its not as grippy.   If you want to cut your own go to Home Depot and get a safety stair tread stick on, larger grit than any tape.  All of this stuff eventually comes loose on the edges on a poly gun from squeezing it in the hot weather, why I went to the SI / epoxy.

36-40 is way more coarse than Talon Grips.

Try something in the 70-80 range.

Not cause I know anything, but I use 36-47 and it's coarse. Way more coarse than Talon grips, which I like.

I'm assuming, based on nothing other than the voices in my head that 70-80 is a bit less coarse.

I also like Talon grips, I wish they made decals for 1911 smooth wood grips.
