2011 baseplates

I’m thinking about adding some Taran Tactical baseplates to my STI 140mm magazines. Will the 7mm plates keep the magazines legal length or do I need shorter?

For USPSA, you'll want the 3g or 4g ones.

FYI, I got the gen2 STI 170 tube and like the video recommended I got the TTI 4g base pad. That combination didn’t fit the gauge. I had to get the 3g base pad and all is well. If you know someone with the base pads, ask them to see what will work on your tubes.

Weird. According to the spreadsheet on the page below,  STI 140mm  should be a 4 mm. I have them on my STI  mags. I'd give them a call. They've have great service whenever I have had an issue.

i had had the same experience as you.  Gen 2 required the 3G pads to fit the gauge.

You can only use 7mm basepads with 140mm mags if you are shooting Open. 

For Limited, typically use 4mm but as stated above, gauge it because you might need a 3mm

Hello: You can use the 4mm TTI. You may have to take a little off the top of the magazine to fit the gauge. OR you buy the 3mm base pad and cut 1/2 coil off the spring and it will hold the same as the 4mm base pad. OR leave the spring alone with the 3mm base pad and it may hold the same as the 4mm base pad. So just buy the 3mm base pad and check the gauge. Thanks, Eric
