GIO
Anybody running Bayou 200swc and Clays? I have been loading at 3.6 grains, oal 1.25x Getting mixed results on accuracy out of a 5inch Trojan. Haven't chrono'd yet but I know the charge is on the low side of recos. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
TDA
I use 4.0 to 4.2 Clays (original Aus) with 200 LSWC coated or bare at that OAL. Edited March 4, 2018 by TDA
jcc7x7
Been shooting 200 SWC Bayou's for years 4.2 grains of Clays (original Australian ) 1.250-55 OAL 172-174 PF depending on barrel etc Very accurate (.002 crimp no more) Too much crimp can be a major issue with both accuracy and smoke of any HyTek coated bullet
GIO
thank you. looks like i need to bump up my powder a bit and check crimp.

pskys2
Newer clays and clay dot take more than 4.2 I ended up at 4.6. But each gun is different. Start at 4.2 and chrono as you go.
Allgoodhits
I have used both Bayou 200 SWC and Penn 200 LSWC with 3.5 - 3.6 gr Clays with 2.5" or less 50 yd accuracy. I get less than 2" 50 yd accuracy with the Bayou 185 SWC I use 3.8 - 3.9 Clays or 3.6 - 3.7 Alliant E3 or 3.9 - 4.0 WST. I load at 1.240 - 1.242 OAL. with these bullets. This are on a quality slide scoped 1911.
Khaot1c
So the 'new' Clays makes that much difference.... Is there a 'quick' way to tell 'which' Clays I have?
